dokumanju- it was last winter when they brought out the international flavored pringles. it was US-bbq, UK-salt&vinegar, france-cheese&onion, korea-hot&spicy or spicy bbq or something. italy was had a cheese flavor i think and i can't remember what other countries were represented- maybe germany too? i've seen bbq pringles in the store lately, but man, those salt and vinegar ones were tasty. my mouth is watering just thinking about it.

what's everybody listening to now?
nekobi replied to Dokumanju's topic in General off-topic discussions
i just burned a dj yoda cd from a friend. i really like it. -
i don't know if eating it reminds me of home or what, but i am a total junk food addict here. i went thru a major pringles phase a while back. i actually almost cried when i found the limited edition international flavors (cheese and onion, salt and vinegar, etc) at my local 7-11. i also eat a lot of fast food here, too. if they just had good dill pickles here, i could satisfy my salt craving more healthfully.

Best age to start learning
nekobi replied to slimeypete's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
the earlier the better. i started skiing when i was about 5 during a vacation with my parents. they just plopped me in ski school all day long while they enjoyed going off on their own. i loved it- had a great instructor and it was fun being with other kids my age. -
differences between men and women
nekobi replied to zwelgen's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
i'm not saying it's a mental thing, but that differences in levels of hormones produce different behaviors. humans are complex, so there are a lot of other factors involved. but in animals with more simple nervous systems, a change in hormones can result in dramatic changes in behaviors. for instance, i remember reading in college about how if you remove the testes of mice, they then display the sexual behavior of female mice, a specific position called lordosis (sp?) rather than mounting. ok, so this doesn't really relate to tricks on the snow, but it's kinda interesting. and i wonder wh -
differences between men and women
nekobi replied to zwelgen's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
i think you could look at the differences in the hormone levels of men and women. the testerone in men may causes them to seek dominance and do a lot of risk-taking. trying to hit crazy jumps is risking injury, but if you can do it, you can earn the respect of your peers and possibly become a leader of the group. women, on the other hand, are more concerned with cooperative behaviors than competitive, so they aren't going to be as determined to keep practicing big tricks or to race their buddies down a hill. ok, i really dont know what i'm talking about, but does anyone else agree? -
i haven't, of course, seen this brothel. I'm just repeating what my sister told me. so I don't really know about legalities of this "health" club. but come on, there are sure to be some in japan, ne?
-
the one where my sister works is totally innocent. if men are looking for something more, they can go to the brothel that's on the floor above the club.

http://salon.com/ent/wire/2003/03/04/jackson/index.html apparently jacko has used witch doctors to plant curses on big hollywood people. have his big tv interview on tape, but haven't watched it yet. why is he so freaky, but also so captivating??

my sister works at one in roppongi. she has to seem interested in the salarymen that go and sing lots of karaoke. but she's making good money (under the table) and is often taken out to expensive dinners for work. not bad if you just want to make quick cash.

Skiing % / Boarding %
nekobi replied to Freddie's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
i definitely see more skiers at nozawa them boarders. you can check out the numbers on the sj resort pages. according to them, it's 72% skiers, 28% boarders at nozawa; 40% skiers, 60% boarders at 47. interesting. -
yeah, seriously, i think your friend was a bit too rude. i mean, this is japan, he could have tried being just a little polite in asking the dudes to put out there cigs, throwing in some sumimasens, gomenasais, and kudasais. and why the hell did he tackle one of the dudes?? he couldnt be certain they were waiting to retaliate (and what kind of retaliation was he expecting? an ass-beating midslope or something?). they could have been waiting for their girfriends- didnt you say it was a group of 4 boarders? it sounds like your friend had some anger issues. he went way overboard.
