  1. Just checked out the webcams. It's good to see people actually skiing in Kiroro now.
  2. Totally agree with you kokodoko. I got one of those once, compliments of SJ and did really feel like a "lucky bugger".
  3. Honto? You didn't know I wore smarty pants? Maybe because with you, I took them off so fast you didn't get a chance to look at them.
  4. Poutine is certainly yummy but there is so much fatty stuff in it.
  5. I'm in Furano from 22 to 27 then 2 days shopping in Sapporo till 29 Dec. You are welcome to join us if you can afford the air-ticket there and back, I can take care of the rest.
  6. Looking at the webcams this morning nearly all the Hokkaido webcams were showing lots of snow. All except Rusutsu which seems to only have a bit. But everywhere else up there looks like there is enough already on the ground to never see any green again till late Spring. And the snow forecasts support this view.
  7. I think that there is good potential in the HK market for snow-tourists to Japan with everyone here making millions of $$$ and wanting to spend that money on more fun holidays. However, the big problem with Hokkaido is getting there. Unless they can increase the number of direct flights there many people who want to go will not be able to. For this reason, Honshu might be a better location to set up hotels-malls-snow resorts for Hong Kong holiday makers.
  8. Yes, I enjoy Larry David's Curb Your Enthusiasm a lot. Not as much as Seinfeld but it is funny. I think what I like the most about it is that it is a satire on socially acceptable behaviour. He intentionally acts out what people really want to say or do in certain situations but never do and suppress instead in order to be deemed as acceptable in society. More or less the same recipe that made Seinfeld such a great success. I still watch Seinfeld re-runs on a regular basis. Have I got an interesting life or what!
  9. Winter looks like it's getting into gear way up north. The Furano weather forecasts show snow for nearly every day of next week and maximum daily temps dropping to 0 by the end of next week.
  10. Tsugaike Kogen is a great place to learn to ski. It's got that very very wide gentle slope running at the bottom serviced by some six double chair-lifts so that you won't need to wait long in any queue. Though I've driven there from Hakuba many times I still don't know how to get there using public transport. Abe, how did you get there?
  11. Thanks Go Native. Would be nice to get an update on Furano Now NOW!
  12. Meanwhile, I'll just settle on brushing my hair every morning and watch the flakies fall.

  14. You're all a bunch of sick, bad, evil men! I must hang out with you more!
  15. OK dating can be a roundabout way of paying for intimacy if you think of it that way. I like to think of dating as having a great time with someone you like and who likes you while exploring the possibility of establishing a long term relationship. Maybe that's why I do have too many dates and my recent few have been flops.
  16. Thanks, Go Native and skidaisuki, that's what I'm waiting to hear.
  17. Thanks, CB, sounds good. But jitsuha, I'm just all talk and no action. I'd never get intimate with anyone unless I really like them and had at least a chance of developing a relationship with and I certainly would never pay for intimacy.
  18. Can't really say for sure. Really depends on who you get. There can be instructors with really good English but are poor instructors...if you get my drift. It's the luck of the draw. But I'd say their instructors will generally be OK. I know quite a lot of HK tourist go there and get ski lessons in English.
  19. I'm not so much interested in how Indo knows this. Rather, I'm interested in the details: What, How much, Where, When?
