  1. Go do it Soub, you two should have great fun skiing together. And make sure you get sunrise to sing for you when you're on the ski-lifts. That's what she did for me. It was fantastic.
  2. Well, let's put it this way, Sweetaz, as a hard-core donut man, I really like both Tim Horton's and Dunkin. Choosing which to go to is a torturous task for me because it means I have to give up one to get the other. However, KKs is a whole level altogether and there is no contest at all. I can't figure out whether they're made in heaven because they are so good tasting or in hell because they are so tempting and so bad for you!
  3. Hey! Didn't you aleady win the Club Med giveaway. Are you gonna make a habit of winning these things?
  4. Let's set the record straight, sunrise, whom I can't see in BCS's pic "sunrise in Hakuba", it was you who not forgiving me.(was it because I begged your parents to let me marry you without asking you first?) Also, let's not jump the gun. One-way street love doesn't work...except maybe in my dreams. As for "And I hope she felt the same." I think she just enjoyed hanging out with me for a day...that's all.
  5. Sunrise, maybe I need to get some new glasses, but I can't see you in BCS's first pic anywhere.
  6. I think this is what Fattwins is refering to in the thread " Insane New Years deal to Hakuba!! ". I don't know whether he's refering to likeDaPow. likesDaPow appears to have had a good time and didn't mention anything about it and Fattwins was quite vague. I think he's (Fatts) too busy lately with his pension to be writing more stuff. BP, CB and BCS are there, so maybe they can fill us in.
  7. Yes, that was good judgement and planning by you. I must admit I was wrong this time. However, I got an unexpected bonus because my favourite person went to Hakuba during that weekend and we actually skied alone together for one full day. That made it all worthwhile and was the highlight of my trip.....and season....and year. So I'm really happy.
  8. Had to wait for an hour and a half! Dammmm. I knew they would be a big hit in Japan and was more than wiling to put my money behind that conviction but there was no way for me to set up in Tokyo without the proper connections. They've only been a minor hit in HK and fortunately there are no outlets new where I live otherwise I would be in big trouble. Nevertheless, every time I pass a district where they have an outlet, I always end up buying a 1 doz box, that's in addition to the free one I get shoved in my mouth as soon as I enter the premises.
  9. Really? That's too bad. Higashiyama itself isn't that much skiing. I think Hirafu is the best of the 3, followed by Annupuri.
  10. Ausi SB, take Thurs's word on this. He just got back from there so his info is the most accurate and update. So how was it, Thurs? Did you have a cracking time? Go ahead and rub my face in some dirt for choosing Hakuba this time.
  11. Actually, what threep says makes good sense. Restaurants with direct access from the slopes will usually allow ski-boots even if they are part of a hotel. So if that restaurant in Furano Prince has direct access from the slopes then walking in with boots on would probably be no problem. But I remember that all the restaurants in the Higashiyama Prince are well inside the hotel so boots are a "no-no", unless there are some new restaurants since I was last there. This seems to be quite a contradiction, actually, for that hotel which has skiers and boarders the getting on and off Higashiyama gond
  12. No I think she's giving this one a rest cos her coach said that her chances were not good this time with her injury still not fully healed or something like that. Also there was something about the sponsors being hesistant, also because of the injury, so there were some issues about money....there not being enough of it......and then at some point he (the coach) was so drunk he starting throwing spoons, saying: "I'm gonna throw this FORK at you". That's how i remember it. BCS, is that the way it happened? Did I get the sequence right? Did I leave out some important details?
  13. That's no good, ausi SB, Fattwins is the anti-Niseko representative of this forum. When I was in Hakuba, I didn't even dare mention the N-word in front of him. BTW, don't just ski Higashiyama, get to the top and traverse to both Annupuri and Hirafu.
  14. Sunrise, I am very surprised at what you're saying. I haven't been to the Furano Prince but I imagine they're the same as the Higashiyama Prince and all the other Prince Hotels I've been to, and I definitely remember that they clearly had signs all over the Higashiyama Prince saying no boots and slippers in the hotel area. I guess mine is just the boring life, following rules and sticking to protocol. Can't compare with what you're used to, as a celebrity you can meet all kinds of interesting people and brush aside rules with impunity. Must be great fun.
  15. That is not a silly question at all. That you bother to ask shows you "give a damn about protocol" and that is something which will be appreciated in J-Land. You will not be allowed to walk about within the hotel in ski-boots. However, you can enter by the ski-locker room and ask the hotel staff to lend you a pair of shoes for walking about within the hotel. You won't be allowed to walk about in socks and even slippers are not allowed. I usually bring along a light pair of plimsolls for these occasions to avoid having to wear the hotel-loan-out shoes. BTW the Prince Higashiyama has the nic

  17. Actually, Mantas, you are right. I've just got back from Fattwins place and his keyboard IS faulty. All the alphabets are in the wrong places. But that's not a reason to not pick on him. If it wasn't this, it would be something else.
  18. Welcome to this site. The target audience of this site is those who: loving skiing or snowboarding; are based in Japan or have some interest in Japan; and who normally speak English but can't spell. (eg. critism instead of criticism). So you should be right at home here. And I'm the resident nuisance here who loves to tick off everyone, especially Fattwins, by pointing out their typos.
  19. あけまして おめでとう ございます Akemashite omedetou gozaimasu.
  20. Cheesecouple are making themselves quite scarce here these days. Too bad your trip to J-land is not during the snow season, I've heard the snow there is much better than NZ's so you could have had a treat. No worries though, there's still plenty of time for you to check that out. You might like to touch base with some cool Tokyo SJ forum members while you are there, like Slow and Sunrise. Cheers and stay cool.
  21. Sweetaz, where have you been? Don't think you can just sneak back into this forum quietly without being noticed. What have you been up to? Welcome back (with or without the helmut).
  22. Hey, BCS, I wouldn't be telling everyone how much your new skis, boots, bindings....cost or "you know who" might SPOON YOU.
  23. Nice try, fjef, but that's Happo and not 47. Don't mind me, I'm still a bit cranky cos, I had to do both Happo and 47 in crappy conditions.
  24. You're not too late, likesDP, I just got back from Hakuba two days ago and let me tell you, I was too early. Snow conditions were not good at all. Nevertheless that didn't stop me from having a good time with Fattwins, Slow, BCS, BP, CB, Barok and other members of the crew. Make sure you hook up with these cool people. I see that now Sun Alpina is up and running but it was closed while I was there. And I didn't get to do Iwatake either. It only really snowed as I was leaving. Would have liked to have sent my thanks to you all in Hakuba for making my stay so much fun much earlier, but
