obento - yeah they do tend to have circular plug like bases. I have never seen anyone ride with it in their armpit though, much smarter than putting it between your legs!!! Whats your definition of a "nut-cracker"?? A t-bar??? Sam - i sooooo don't use you as a push off post, not my fault your slow to get off the lift!! -

A pommie (or J-bar as Sam correctly called it) is one of those god aweful lfts that you put between your legs. Because the "pommie" is placed between your legs it makes it near impossible to ride these lifts on a baord. Most of the lefties over here will not let you on the pommies if you are on a board, but there are only a couple and they dont really provide an extra access to the mountain. From what i hear they are few and far between over there. -

Everyone seems to be pretty positive about night riding in Japan!!! I can't wait!!! -
NoFakie, Yeah the camera is a Casio GV-10. I agree that the shutter is pretty slow, kinda annoying but at the moment it isn't too bad. The lack of zoom is a downer too, but its not like its an overly expenisve camera anyway. I do like the "best shots" feature though - i like being able to take black & white, sepia and a heap more. Im pretty happy with the quality of the photos so far though.

I think Sam (snowboard_freaks_girl) and I are going to take the laptop. I'm definatley taking my digital camera. It is rated as an outdoor camera which is water/dust/shock resistant and can take 10sec film clips too. I think it should be able to handle the conditions NoFakie - why do you say watch where you take it? Do you mean nightclubs? etc

Here in Australia we have night riding one or two nights a week. It isn't worth it over here though. Only a very small part of the mountain is open and that is the part that sees the most action during the day, thus the snow quality is pretty poor. It is normally very cold and the snow is icy and rock hard. Not very pleasent, i have done it twice over here but wont do it again. I'm looking forward to experiencing the night riding in Japan this season. Should be good!!!
