  1. You think a deep fried Mars bar is bad, try a deep fried twinkie!! BLEH! I can't claim to have tried either but I don't plan to any time soon.
  2. I had a flu shot this year (wasn't planning to but got it while i was getting SE Asia shots). Seems like everyone I know got a cold while they were in Niseko. Something about Niseko. I was a bit sick for about a week (not enough to keep me off the mountain of course) and it just went around like wild fire. No chicken pox here tho.
  3. It may be a big deal in the media now but I think most people know it really isn't that big of a deal. Anyone that saw it could tell plainly it was intended. Obviously it was a publicity stunt, and in my book, any publicity stunt that bares breasts is okay with me (and millions of other American dudes). She'll sell loads of records and the whole controversy will burn out in 14.5 minutes. No harm done.
  4. Ahhhhh Kettle Chips. The perfect snack...FOR REVENGE!
  5. Well I had put down a few drinks by that point in the evening...but I didn't think it was all that bad.
  6. When Dane and I were there the 2nd week of Dec. the free "terrain" park at BC was a rail park. Not a single jump. We did find some nice kickers a quick hike back behind the lodge at the bottom of jersey/glacier though. You won't have any problem finding gear in Vancouver. There are shops all over Robson and a bunch situated over near the North side of the University as well. I found the prices to be a little higher than the Seattle area though.
  7. The BOA system is a progressive technology that seems to be catching on. I am rocking BOAs this year (Vans Contras) and love the tech. I can get the boots on and off as fast as normal shoes, and if my foot is cramping up I can loosen it up really quick for the chair and then crank it down at the top. My boots also have a passive tracking device in them. As fattwins said, the system is great if you need to find your dead body buried in an avalanche in Europe.
  8. So far...6. But, as of this time last year...5. It was one year ago today I arrived in Japan to start my Nagano snowboarding.
  9. NT File System. It is a Microsoft file system that is more secure than FAT32. It is the standard for Windows NT, 2000, and XP, although the latter 2 can use FAT32 as well. Anyway, the system is more secure and also handles clusters better, so converting a drive can sometimes lead to increased disk space.
  10. Yeah, plus you forgot the "pay for xbox live" step. There are a few free tunneling services out there that work with modded boxes and the games they contain. I have yet to fool around with them too much but my friend plays Halo and Tiger Woods on XBConnect all the time.
  11. Kiwis grow on vines don't they? Where does money grow?
  12. Sorry guys, the sideburns had to come off... I was attracting too much attention from the ladies. You just don't know what it is like to be treated like an object instead of a person.
  13. It depends on if the jump has a slight lean one way or the other - but in general and on a straight jump I prefer backside. Easier to spot your landing for sure, but also it is just the way I started spinning so it feels a bit more natural.
  14. That would be on Xbox Live then Bobby? So do you run Live via a chip switch? Ever had any problems?
  15. How big are each of the drives? You shouldn't have more than a gig or two of installed programs unless you are running some really specialized applications. What kind of files dow you have on your C:? What OS are you running? Windows XP's virtual memory file takes up 768MB. Emptied your recycle bin lately? Running XP? How much disk space do you have devoted to System Restore? (Right click My Computer -> Properties -> click System Restore tab -> C: Settings) You should be able to cut the default 12% in half to 6% and not notice any problems. Or just turn it of
  16. Wow - fattwins is posting lines on the forum. Take this guys advice people...he knows what he is talking about.
  17. BTW, no where in Nagano is easily accessed by shinkansen. Your best bet is taking a bus from Nagano-eki to Hakuba. The bus drops you off near the resorts. For shink-skiing you have to head to Niigata.
  18. Quote: "I got a boning playlist on my iPod for when I have sex" - P.Diddy The Pod really has revolutionized the world of portable music. When I went home for a couple weeks I just brought my pod and tape adapter and had my entire music library with me in my car for all the driving around. I used to go to the trouble of deciding what cds I wanted to take on a trip...no more. Yes I am a poddict.

  20. I went to the palace on Jan 2nd - I guess his b-day isn't the only day you can see him. It was kinda cool to walk through the grounds and you can certainly see a good deal although you can't go in any buildings. It was crowded but nothing compared to the 2 hour cattle drive at Meiji Jingu the day before. The actual appearance by him and his family lasted less than 5 minutes. He just came out, wished everyone prosperity in the new year and then waved while everyone furiously shook their paper flags. Oh the Japan experience...
