  1. Baldbull, try up in Geihoku, Miyoshi, Onomichi/Mihara area or Kui, just head out to the mountains and youre bound to find some trails mate.
  2. Theres also sking on Shikoku - might be at Ishizuchi san but dont think thats right. Probably a different mountain somewhere around there... watch out for the ice. Hiroshima - geihoku, saioto, asahi ten good stones, mizuho, osorokan(my fav!) are decent enough if there is real snow and that happens rarely and usually midweek so you cant ever ski it. Just artificial and ice. Not to mention that its 99% boarders there...
  3. Got a Kimchi Nabe (konpa) party lined up for this weekend!! Whoa, would like to get a konpa with some of the SJG bunnies. Anybody up for it?
  4. Now that Ill finally be able to do some serious backcountry this winter Im definitely going to get a helmet. Do you have any recommendations for a good helmet? Id also like to be able to get some headphones put in for my MD player. Ive seen people who just shoved them in the ear flaps or something like that. Help!!
  5. enderzero, I got a Sony lp md player and its nice. Never had any problems with it and have had it for over 2 years on and off the slopes, camping, traveling, thrown around in my backpack, etc... even dropped the thing a few times. Not trying to pitch an ad for Sony but their mds are good. Much more durable than the Pioneer I use to use, but that thing is a dinosaur and almost 4 years old...
  6. Those two are classic!! I show them about 2x per year to my students. They love them!
  7. I wonder if cheeseman has graphics of cheese all over his board(s)?! Have you posted anything related to snow yet?
  8. my mom told me never to take candy from a stranger... I just think waking up every morning and remembering all you have to do is get up to the Gondola early for freshies would be sweet. Ski powder every morning, work a few hours a day, and party at night. Could definitly get use to that!!!
  9. brummy, Like Ocean said stinkbugs do have a relation to the weather. Most any oyaji in this country will tell you so - the more stinkbugs there are, the colder it will be and the more snow we will have
  10. Speaking of talent, how much talent do these people actually have? Like Mino Monta, the guy who's the host of "Millionaire" - he's also on like 15 other shows throughout the week. What happened to just letting people do one show a week? Its bad enough that I gotta see him on Karakuri terebi but also on every other damn program and channel, too.
  11. Obento, Wasnt that song made like a decade ago by some Japanese Enka singer? Ocean, you know that woman Im talking about??
  12. Jakara, Commune, Kiss of Illumination(something like that) Nick's Underground, and a few others too. Head to one of the gaijin bars and your sure to find a group of people going or who could take you. Commune sometimes gets some really good DJs and Kiss use to but it even mightve closed down. Jakara and Nicks play lots of house/hiphop. But I know they also play everything else. You can pick up a monthly flyer maybe at HMV in the city.
  13. echineko, Hiroshima e kinsaiya!! kittara nandemo echichan ni kawantoiken jyaro? henji wo machiorun I gotta get some new gear too and dont have any money
  14. Nabe - theres nothing nicer than eating nabe and drinking atsukan while sitting under a kotatsu with your mates!!! nikuman and oden are good too ummm, hot chocolate I know you cant eat it but a nice onsen bath after a day on the slopes is sooo relaxing
  15. Sharon, No, but I live in the city which isnt too far - maybe about an hour to Saijo. U going to sake matsuri?
  16. Found a webpage for it - its only in Japanese but if you can read it you may change your mind about coming www.sakematsuri.com Im sure that if I mention the 3 enka singers that are coming its a sure way to get everybody down here, right??!!
  17. Can I just ask the people, without trying offending you cuz some people here take things the wrong way, what is so great about the big cities like Tokyo, Osaka, Kobe, Sapporo, Hiroshima, Yokohama, Nagoya, etc - is that just cuz you live there and youve never experienced anything else? What appeal does it have?
  18. For those of you who are wondering what to do this weekend, since we still cant get to the slopes for some pow pow, if youre close enough you should come to the Sake Matsuri in Higashi Hiroshima. Close to 1000 different bottles of Sake from the entire country will be there - from Okinawa to Hokkaido, Miyazaki to Ina shi. It costs 1200 yen to get in and then its Nomihodai the entire day, Saturday 11am-9pm and Sunday from 9am-5pm. You do have to pay for each day, but geeze, with the best sake in Japan there and all you can drink... not too bad a deal. You can also enjoy the historic sights o
  19. some kneepads and a jimi thing might be helpful too ender... then we could throw in some aquarius and a powerbar for some "endurance"
  20. Got plenty of people saying dont screw the crew... thanks for the advice. Still am curious what other people, especially Japanese women, what problems youve had in relationships.
  21. Semo, Talking about nothing which is what we usually do anyways, right? But, if ya wanna know, when I posted this thread I had written 69 posts at that point - nice number
  22. Cant say I know about wristguards for boarding cuz I ski, but they are the only protection I wear when rollerblading and theyve saved me several times from broken wrist, guaranteed. Wont blade without them.
