  1. I've just been looking at that too, hmmm that does look interesting. And all for about 50,000 yen too. You can use the internet in the bathroom too. That's getting silly. But worth pointing out that it isn't just for the bathroom, but for anywhere including outside. Just checked on the Yamaha tv option in the catalogue. 230,000 yen plus installation. And all it does is chideji, so no recording/DNLA/connectivety. Wow, that is so way overpriced! I can see the value of having it permentantly stuck on the wall and not needing to charge (if you intend on having it in the bath al
  2. Snow hasn't been too much of an issue here yet Mr Wiggles. Certainly manageable amounts. Just one more thing to consider and consult. In the next few weeks we'll go and talk with a few companies and see what they say.
  3. There was a TV option in the catalogue when we ordered our bath. If I remember, the list price was over 200,000 yen, and that's without the install costs. Er, no thanks. I don't think it did the sexy connected stuff that one seems too either. Was there any lag or issues with the picture on it rach?
  4. If you wear headphones, you block out all the top hits like AKB48, Perfume and Kool & The Gang's 'Celebration' too! Can't be a good thing.
  5. muika, absolutely no idea. I'm sure it will be a lovely surprise!
  6. I feel like a bath isn't complete without them now! No. No scratching of male backs here.
  7. One specific question. I want to research garden sheds. Nice ones, not some horrible tin things you can see at home centers here. Anyone know what I should be searching for in nihongo for 'pretty garden shed'?
  8. I feel like a bath isn't complete without them now!
  9. Hope it goes well. We have new water every day.
  10. Yes look where other bath-related stuff is. The kanji you are looking for on them all is: 入浴剤 There's all sorts of stuff on the packet about how all the illnesses/conditions they are good for but I just like them for the colours and smells.
  11. Cool. I might do that. Horns or garden, horns or garden. Will need to discuss with the lady.
  12. Like these 旅の宿 にごり湯 They even have cartoon pics on the packets, often with female breasts showing! There's lots of different kinds.
  13. We're thinking of perhaps veggies down the side, but 'landscaped' in the main back area. I like the idea of a row of trees along the back area. Not really put much thought into much else.
  14. Spectacular stuff as always muika. I want you to go up to Hokkaido and show us your take on those mountains.
  15. 43C here. That's what it was default and it seems just about right.
  16. Still really love the daily bath and enjoying a different 'onsen' every day with those powder things you put in. I like the cloudy ones. Nice smells. I had Kusatsu Onsen last night. I was expecting bad egg smell, but it was surprisingly flowery!
  17. Getting used to living in the new house. Actually very used to it. Now thoughts turn to a garden. As well as bits down the side, we probably have a space of about 15m x 6m to work with. Not huge, but would like to do something nice with it. So thinking about talking with a few companies that help plan gardens and perhaps get it up and running for me. While I'm fine learning how to maintain one, I don't think I'm interested in spending ages actually creating it and would prefer it to happen all at once. So I think I'd prefer to discuss ideas with a company and pay them to ge
  18. Put the Daft Punk album on today. Apart from a few on it, including that main single, I quite like it yes I do.
  19. Come on Dom & Phil. Are we just holding on in van, with no chance of them coming back?
  20. Without diving into a big bag full of receipts, I can't quite remember. Perhaps around 25-30 man? Sorry, can't recall how it broke down.
  21. I'm quite shocked at how much difference a quality bed makes. Or perhaps just how much our old one was lacking. In our new house we have a new bed - a lovely walnut wooden frame, a 30cm Simmons mattress, and what was an expensive thick duvet with some posh feathers in. I wasn't keen on spending so much on the duvet at first but my oh my, it's warm. Need nothing else, can sleep in a t-shirt when it's very cold in the room. And the bed feels just amazing. I would not have believed that a quality be could make so a huge difference. It cost a lot - the whole bed set up cost closing
