I never heard about that in my 3 years as a Nagano AET. They must have been kick ass AETs. Doesnt the BOE pay for everything AET-related anyway? Cant imagine why the town would suddenly stump up 10man for this.

they can try to appeal to hardcore gamers, and indeed many hardcore gamers bought the wii as a 2nd console, but i think their core market is different to ps3/xbox and that is a wise move on their part. i think they should move more into educational tools/games rather than regular gaming.

Hmm, when I was on a spouse visa twice I just handed in my gaijin card at the airport and came back and applied for a new gaijin card. no reentry permit, no new visa application. Now i am on a PR visa, maybe it would be different.

i am not sure that nintendo are really a rival of xbox/ps anymore since gamecube. its a different market they are targetting i think.

Why do you need reentry permit to come into Japan? You can just come in on a tourist visa (or spouse visa etc) and then get a new gaijin card. My understanding is you only need reentry permit to stop them taking your gaijin card off you when you leave japan.

If there are any files in the old one that you need and use often, just drag them

Last time I came back to Japan (I think it was early April this year), there was no rentry permit line! This was at Kansai KIX. Don't know if this has been applied to all Japan airports, can anyone confirm?
