Ex smoker here so < rant mode="on> smokers stink - no 2 ways about it: your clothes stink, your breath stinks. smoking is bad for you - I smoked for 9 years and I now have permanent damage to one lung (visible on an X-Ray 25 years after I gave up), my father smoked for about 30 years and now has mild emphysema (diagnosed 30 years after he gave up) < /rant>

Love your work Especially Quote: originally in the article To take the stairs, escalators are for skiers. Escalators are for skiers; a real snowboarder takes the stairs! This is pretty well universally understood so, no need to write it down. Jason Brown takes the stairs oops -

No, I like accents, especially Irish, Scottish, some English, some US. Preferably with a bit of huskiness to it as well, not necessarily deep, but not squeaky. Martha Davis (The Motels) mmmmmmmm....

Kelly is one kick-ass grrrl. She has apretty good grasp on the reality of her life. On the televised ARIAs (AU Record Industry Awards), the host asked how she felt being famous and she replied "I'm only famous because I'm someones daughter"

I have orthotics that I wear with just about everything. If you have any foot problems when wearing normal shoes I'd suggest getting some orthotics to start with. Note also that problems with your ankles, knees, hips and lower back can pften be traced back to badly aligned feet. Once you are comfortable with your orthotics, take them with you to a good boot-fitter so they can see what the podiatrist has worked out for you. Take all the info that you can get from the podiatrist about what problems you have. It will make the boot fitters job so much easier.

Isn't it funny how one thought leads you to another to another. Saw Bond and thought of a scene in Trainspotting, where Renton (Ewan MacGregor) and Pretty Boy (Johhny Lee Miller) are discussing Sean Connery and Ewan shoots the punks dog.

Where do you buy your exteme sports videos
Raury replied to Raury's topic in General off-topic discussions
akibun, I am mainly researching "exteme" sport videos, but any comments you wish to make in the thread will be gladly accepted. -
Where do you go if you want to buy an extreme sports video, and what sports do you watch on video? I am doing some market research on this topic, so if you watch videos, please fill this poll in. If you mark "Other" on either question, could you comment in the thread Thanks Raury

Powder. Or not?
Raury replied to BagOfCrisps's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
powder is that soft stuff that lies on the ground immediately after a snow fall. Enough of it, and the runs are so schweeeet, provided the groomers haven't rolled it into the underlying base. Best place to find powder is off-piste in wind shadows -
big fan up to Joshua Tree, then there have been moment of inspiration since then. Favourite album is still "Under a Blood Red Sky"
