  1. "A Coward attack" the so call King Hit. Darwin 2000. Australian have this thing about seeking up on some defenfence person and attacking them. It took my poor brother 3 months before he remember his identity. now he has serve short term memory loss and walking disability. He needs prompting to do everyday stuff everyday for the rest of his life. It has really put a dumper on my early retirement. I care for him 9 months of the year and for 3 months he is in respite care which give me a break. So that why I know why helmet are so important to wear. A brain injure just don,t stuff up your own l
  2. Combination of cost of fuel, the ability to land A380,s and Immigration. Changi is Asia air port hub for maintenance and the cheap place to refuel in Asia. If Perth and Darwin can land A 380,s they we fly direct. A A380 can Fly from Changi to Perth to Narita top up at Narita to make to Changi. Adelaide as no immigration. I fly JAL because I don,t want to end up like poor iiyamadude for 9 hours plus the bogan factor. I hope that answer your query Mamabear.
  3. So if your boot are 20 years old and your not into renewing your gear until it break up. I can understand that. Your son must really love the snow. Do your son a favour and stop embarrassing him and get some new gear for both of you. For your son who he is 10 and will grow out of his gear so just rent his boot and ski. But your got to stop embarrassing your son. I hope you understand where I come from. You have to get new gear or rental. LOL
  4. The northern marunouchi entrance is the main Taxis and bus drop and pick up. So when you get off you train at Tokyo station access your compass on your smart phone. The entrance is actual on the North east corner of Tokyo Station so keep that in mind when navigating the passage way in Tokyo station. I assume you will have snowboard or ski bags. Try sending them to Airport by Black Cat service. From Hakuba the cost last season was Y2800 (AUD $30) because carting these bag through the passage can be a piss off.
  5. I have a Brother I care for with a required brain injury. It has totally destroyed his life and put a hold on my fun in my life. I have to quite a very good Job to go home and care for him. People say that really good thing you doing and I say to myself will how come I feel so guilty that I really hate it and it put a damper on the rest of my life because wearing a helmet is nerdy or uncool. for f#%^$ sake Wear Helmets!!!
  6. Carry kitty litter with you as well as chain. Try spreading the kitty litter around the drive wheels or wheel and if that does the job you didn,t have stuff around in the cold chaining your drive wheels ( I have seen people chaining the wrong wheels many times LOL). And yes carry chain in all car and vans and a good snatch rope with you always. One more tip about 2wds you are going to used . Much sure you tick the extra car hire cover box in your travel insurance. I hope your not driving between the 13 to the 27 of Feb because don,t want be around you while your driving a 2wd. And beware of t
  7. In 2015 all that will change. That why Qantas is heading to base themselves in Asia. Asian air space including all of the australian state capitals city stop the regulating government help out to there national airways like landing fee and government taxs and direct flight privileges. There will be none of that shit going on and every air line is on the same footing. all Asian airline are treated the same at all state and nation capitals. in other word qantas Virgin and Jet star will not be able pay less, government taxs and receive any protection regulation.which give them a advantage over th
  8. OK But for clothing I would advise you to just have a look at Max Value ( like your Walmart ) cheap gears in Hakuba. It is top quality but not branded.THey have a big range of snow gear like rubber boot for getting around town which I would advise to get. I get a new set of Pants, Jacket and compression each year for under Y10.000 ($110 AUD). And Fat usually are rented out as High performance skies.
  9. I really love the Fats but the best way around this to rent the Fats on powder days. So buy a pair for riding groom and free style (twin tips) and rent Fats for POW day.
  10. I leave my car running all the time. When I go out for shopping or anything in winter, I park the car and leave it running. I might be a only a minute or I could be 1/2 hour. plus I never take the key out of the ignition. The key stay in the ignition all the time ( I fear i will misplace them). I leave my camera bag on top of the lockers at resorts because I fear losing the key and having to muck around with management to open up the locker to retrieve my gear. Being a Policeman in Japan would have to be the most boring Job in the world because I have never witness any crime in Japan in the 4ye
  11. Try looking around the north side of Iimori car park in the forest. Beware of the wild life. They look like big rackcoons. There is also some big goats. Both could make a mess of your camp when your on the slopes
  12. All this advice and some very bad. like Hakuba or Kugara for a day trip. Sure it has tree runs but the only one that allows is Cortina. all the others are patrolled and if caught will take your lift pass. Weather is another factor. In recent season the there has been periods 10 days straight without any snow in January and February. So why go to far off places if you are going to get the same groomed runs and crowds. Who want to spend 3 to 4 hours on public transport carting your gear get to a ski area and be disappointed. I did say for fun runs!! so settle down with the I KNOW BEST ATiTUDE.!
  13. If you are press for time and hard up for some fun runs try Karuizawa Prince hotel ski park. It is 86 minutes from Tokyo station on the Nagano Shinkanse and 200 meters walking distance from the Karuizawa station. First lift opens at 8.00am to 5.00pm. Catch the Asama 557 6.28am from Tokyo and you will be there for the first lifts. When you pull in to Karuizawa station just look to your left and you will see the lifts. Its is the easiest and the best option to get to from Tokyo station. One train and you are there. I don,t know why SP has not got it listed on it list of resorts
