Same, hitting up rusutsu for the first day. I'm interested to hear how the different boards go. -

So, which one rides the best? -
Brilliant!

I think if you want to feel safe don't think about it, or take up a different hobby. Killing off one or two sharks won't stop the perceived problem.
-
So because we humans are encroaching their (sharks, bears, snakes, insert thing that can harm humans) habitat, that it makes it ok to kill them off because we will "feel" safe? If you want to feel safe, stay in the city and get hit by a car which is more likely to happen than getting eaten by a shark or mauled by a bear.

Rather than hunting for killing the GW sharks, why not hunt, capture, tag, release and then study. Killing them is little more than revenge without knowing their habits and behaviour.

SR : HokkaidOH! 2013/14
Dunga replied to Mike Pow's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Awesome! My favorite thread is back! Hope the season is a ripper, partly because I'm heading over there this season. -
Tag and release, then set up an app where you can log on and monitor movements. No killing needed.

Cost of Living in Niseko
Dunga replied to stevenmulcahy123's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
The development of Niseko should be around the areas other than hirafu to ensure that the mountain doesn't get clogged in that one area. -
Wanted: Winter Stoke!
Dunga replied to Mick Rich's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Hakuba resorts are reporting 1m of snow out of this storm up high... Some nice photos coming through. -
Agree it's not that hot, but it's damn delicious!

Wanted: Winter Stoke!
Dunga replied to Mick Rich's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Looking at the cams this morning, hakuba looks already bottomless! BOOK NOW! ;-) -
Competitions will be the only way to become a "pro". More people get picked up that way than attending camps. If he can hit up some other skilled kids in parks he will gain experience by talking to them and seeing how they ride.

Fave skijo in Hakuba
Dunga replied to onsen tamago's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
The thing I like about happo is that there can be fresh snow up high days after a storm. Just have to keep to the skiers left of the mountain. -

To go pro or not to go pro

The quality of the film is ok from a gopro, but I could never bring myself to look like a teletubbie... -
Fave skijo in Hakuba
Dunga replied to onsen tamago's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Have had awesome days in the back bowl of iwatake and the associated trees there, and some pow over skyline way at happo days after the storm had roller away. 47 goyru I found really boring, but then again I'm not a park rat.
