The beauty of snow

To me that looks like a tree from the original Lorax! #Don'tknowhowtopostanimagewithoutitgettingblocked -
When we were there this time last year, the sun came out for a whole total of 30mins ;-) I almost didn't have enough time to get the camera out to catch Yotei in its fleeting appearance! I still can't get over the "fresh tracks" that we got fairly consistently after lunch due to the sheer amount snow falling... Keep up the good work!

I was really ticked off this season in Australia when people were running over my board when there was 5cms of fresh to be had. Made my mind up then and there that I will be making a fairly regular trip to Japan. -

There is no problems taking them on trains but I found it a hassle when trying to make tight connections between trains. The courier service is ace. -

Looking at getting some Caribou's, i didnt realise there are so many different types... Last year i froze my toes off wearing my cons all stars (was a smart move by me). Any suggestions? -

Thinking of getting some Sorel's from the US, anyone think they are ok? Is it worth the extra $ to get the woollen ones? -

Try hopshopgo as I have used them as a forwarding company quite a few times for shipping. I sent over to Australia a board, bindings and goggles for about $120AUD, roughly 9600¥. There is also my USA and others... -

Being impatient? It's 4 days in and if you had ordered online it would be more than halfway there now ;-) -

Key thing to stop sore muscles for me is wearing compression leggings during and after skiing. Works a treat. -

Which ones? Those new Oakley ones with a heads up display on how fast you are travelling? -
So a long time reader here and 1st time poster. I will be in Hakuba 20-27th of Jan. I have booked with a mate and his dad, but have just found out that he has just got a job in the US which means that he can no longer make it, which also means that his dad is also potentially looking to off load his flights/accom/lift tickets/ transfers ect. I don't know what to do and are thinking im definitely going either way and might be looking for a boarding buddy for the week... If anyone knows of someone keen for a cheap trip 19-28th of jan from Melbourne, let me know.

Luggage service
Dunga replied to thedogsbollocks's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Its awesome. When i hit up hakuba and Niseko last season, i just got off the plane, dropped off the bag and when 6 days later after playing in Tokyo we got to Hakuba and it was at the pension waiting. Then sent it from Hakuba to Niseko even though we werent going to be there for another week and again it was there waiting for us. Such an awesome service and something other countries should try out...
