Taking the kids out!

Wouldn't recommend putting under 6s on a snowboard, it can put undue stress on developing bodies. Ski all the way....but unsure the youngest you can start skiing. Hopefully others can advise..... -

Apparently there are receivers which pick up both RECCO and beeper signals and uses them together to locate bodies/people. -

My Pants have RECCO. But never really thought about it. Do rescue teams have the appropriate kit for tracking the signal as standard? -

Insurance Shocks

Just finalized by insurance for my Japan trip. Interesting how some insurers claim off piste insurance, but when you dig deeper you find that it is only off piste within resort boundaries...i.e no back country. Anyway found a good insurer (Insure4less) who have quiet clear literature which clearly states back country cover. -

Hey Pete, few days notice would be good for Niseko drinks. Once I leave on Friday I doubt I will have a chance to check the forum. -

Great news Pete. The snow will come and I hope the fish makes all your powder dreams come true. -

Come on. Bit more optimism please. Ok...Snowfall looks potentially lower than average, but anything longer than 1 week forecast is always a stab in the dark. Hokkaido looks like it will get colder for the rest of Feb, and fingers crossed a snowy system will come along. And most importantly this is a La Nina year and that means the weather becomes less predictable. -

I like your thinking Ippy. But not tempted to make your own? I have my 168 Ride Yukon earmarked to be split. Back on topic. So there is no chance you can do a Tokyo shop on your way through Pete? -

Have you tried emailing Rhythm in Niseko? They stock Burton and Lib Tech. -

Good luck with your shopping Pete. You will never get a consensus on here as everyone rightly has their preferences and bias. But if I see a mullet sticking out the snow when I arrive in week, I will be sure to come over and ask how you're getting on with it. -

Obviously they are both for pow.....but the Mullet will probably ride better on the groomers (on your way back to the lift for more pow). It will just be that little bit more versatile. -

True, it is unlikely that you will see commitment like that from modern players. -
Saw the Dead Weather last year. Jack is a pretty amazing drummer, apparently he learnt drums before guitar and it was always his preferred instrument.

No great suprise as Jack's other commitments seem to be taking over....but WTF is the writer of this article on about? Quote: The White Stripes, the groundbreaking rock duo which helped revive and reshape a stale rock scene with their scorching, guitar-fuelled, blues-tinged songs, have announced they're splitting up after more than a decade and six albums together. Jack and Meg White (who presented themselves as brother and sister but were actually ex-husband and wife) said no "Behind the Music"-type troubles doomed the band.
