There was no penalty called on the Raymond hit though. Boston played well but more than anything Thomas just stole the series!

Myoko or Yuzawa Snowseason 2012
rider69 replied to ESR's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
To kill the buying the car plan you can not do it without a gaijin card as a start. Depending on where you live you also need a parking shomesho and a licence. Your best bet is to find some long term rental option or hope someone that has legal residence in Japan buys a car for you. If you like the 3 valleys then an option could be nagano city. Nightlife and Nozawa Shiga Hakuba and Myoko are all within 1 hour. -
You can tell by the style of play really. I think Kessler is really hurt. He was a monster until he more than likely ripped is groin. the hit on Mason Raymond was weird I am at odds as to if that is a bad hit. The puck was there and he finished off the hit but considering the body position of the player he maybe shouldve let the player go.

Boston is mostly Canadian though.

Roberto Roberto Robeatable! What a bad start, the game was over in 10 minutes.

It isn't a company. There is no supply and demand for the product. I dis-like the re-entry process.

Hockey is rough but the protection the players are wear is just too good and dangerous. The shoulders pads need to be softer as do the elbow pads. Look at all the blocked shots these days. If you dont take it on the ankle you hardly feel the blow. The brain buckets have to get better take a look at the newer NFL helmets they have bubble wrapping type of stuff in them. The Sendins need to play tougher without getting into the stuff after the play.

I think this one is going to go to 7 games. Luongo will start he has to really. He played a great game 1 and 2. He played great in the San Jose. He also played fine against Nashville. Game 3 was hardly his fault the team just forgot how to play hockey. The second period was awful. He should have allowed himself to be pulled though just for protection so late in a lost game. Vancouver needs to win the next game if they do this series should go to 7 games!

Season Pass Cost/would you?
rider69 replied to norcal's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Sorry made a mistake. The Pass is the JTB seasons pass and it has a good amount of resorts on it some in Yuzawa as well. It does look worth while for people from Tokyo looking for a fixed cost. You should be able to find it via a simple english search. -
Season Pass Cost/would you?
rider69 replied to norcal's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
The JA pass which offers Iwatake Tsugake Norikura Cortina in the Hakuba area I also think it has 50 resorts on the ticket but I cant find the link at the moment -
It is a ski forum and the travel news is important. We must consider that the next season may put some of the resorts you know and love out of business. Who knows how much Nozawa had to spend to even get their Gondola up and going again for example. Can they or other resorts survive without international guests?

Is your season done?
rider69 replied to rider69's topic in Snow talk, trip reports, Japan avalanche & backcountry
Back home in 5 days to visit the family so I have pretty much switched to biking and kayaking. -
People cant be bullied into coming to Japan. I think TJ is trying to see how to begin to market for next season. Also, there are pensions here thinking about just not even opening next season. The year might be a right off anyways. What people are thinking is very important, even if it doesn't match the reality of where people are in Japan.

All you need is a kei truck and bike and your back country travels are set. I would love to ski some spring couloirs in Europe. The hike looks long but the lifts cut off a lot of distance. This weekends plan is a bit harder, with fresh snow or rain and no re-freeze.
