It's Monday, May 6th, the last day of Golden Week and the last day of the official ski season here in Nozawa.

Hello and good morning from Nozawa. Ah, some clearer weather!

Kind of a hazy cloudy early morning, with the sun shining through.

Very poor visibility up on much of the mountain at the moment. So much so that Yamabiko A/B/C/D/E are closed.

After some snow early yesterday, we had a bit of wet during the day, but this morning things are a bit clearer and a bit calmer.

It is still snowing lightly this morning.

Get this... this morning the ski area is reporting 70cm of snowfall since yesterday on the top Yamabiko area of the mountain.

It's snowing. Already 3-4cm on the ground. Lots more to come into tomorrow - looks like it is happening.

This morning there is a lot of cloud around, but there's some blue ski to see, too, and the sun is out. It is thankfully much calmer than yesterday.

It's 8am and the situation is still a bit unclear still this morning.

There was more snow during the day yesterday, especially on the mountain -- a decent amount too.

This morning Nozawa Onsen is saying that there's a whopping 45cm of snowfall up on the top areas!

Fine weather across the region this morning, but it might not last all day. It is a cold early morning but it will likely end up being a rather mild day.

What a few days it is turning out to be!
