Get this... this morning the ski area is reporting 70cm of snowfall since yesterday on the top Yamabiko area of the mountain. Nuts! That must be a record for late March...
It is also reporting 40+cm from base too.
So we have had a lot of fresh snow since yesterday and it is still snowing lightly this morning. The snow should ease off by tomorrow and we might get some sunshine later in the day tomorrow.
Temps will start to get warmer by the weekend, though not crazy warm.
All good. All a bit crazy! Naski is pleased.
Fresh snowfall since yesterday morning (reported by the ski area at 8:20am):
Yamabiko: 70cm (!)
Uenotaira: 50cm
Hikage: 50cm
Nagasaka: 55cm
Karasawa: 40cm
Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):
Yamabiko: 310cm
Uenotaira: 250cm
Hikage: 100cm
Nagasaka: 120cm
Karasawa: 70cm
Spring season & planned closing date:
Cheaper spring season tickets will be available from Monday 1st April until the end of the season.
Nozawa Onsen ski area plans to open until Monday 6th May 2024 (subject to conditions).
