New snowfall at base 0cm
Snowfall at base this season 657cm

Posted on Friday 12th April 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

Kind of a hazy cloudy early morning, with the sun shining through.

The Skyline connecting pair, Uenotaira quad and Paradise quad are all back in action today through Sunday.

Clear skies and warmth are expected over the weekend.

On the national news last night was the weather forecast for the coming month. It basically said... 'scorchio'! Yes, the coming month will see 'warmer than average/normal' temperatures for every single region of Japan, north to south. They were joking about it feeling like summer. That is not funny, and it put me in a grumpy mood... I need to get out on the mountain to refresh my thoughts. A meeting with Naski would certainly help too.

Official snow depth numbers (reported by the ski area):

Yamabiko: 170cm

Uenotaira: 145cm

Lower areas: --

Planned closing date:

Nozawa Onsen plans to be open until Monday 6th May 2024. Whether it can or not will depend on the snow/weather. I'll keep you posted.
