Independent snow and weather reporting from the Nozawa Onsen region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 657cm

Posted on Sunday 24th March 2024 This is an archived report. The latest Nozawa Now report can be found here.

After some snow early yesterday, we had a bit of wet during the day (down in the village, I was not able to be out on the mountain), but this morning things are a bit clearer and a bit calmer. Lots of cloud around but seemingly no worry about rain and no change of snow as it is going to be a mild day.

Perhaps some more snow around Tuesday, though it might be wet in lower areas, and other than that some warming up going on. Just as you might expect as we approach April!

Fresh snowfall since yesterday afternoon (reported by the ski area):

Yamabiko: 0cm

Uenotaira: 0cm

Hikage: 0cm

Nagasaka: 0cm

Karasawa: 0cm

Yamabiko: 305cm

Uenotaira: 240cm

Hikage: 100cm

Spring season & planned closing date:
