The snow continues. It's cold and quite windy too.

We got us some fresh snow this morning and it is snowing now.

It's a beauty. After all the snowfall and wind, a Saturday morning like this will be making a lot of people happy.

Well, it has really kicked off over the last day!

I'm happy to report that it's calmer this morning.

The good news is that we have fresh snow. Ski areas are reporting 30-50cm (Goryu winning the biggest number prize) across the mountains. Nice.

It's a kind of relatively mild feeling to the morning and most ski areas reporting up to 5cm of snow.

After all that snow yesterday, there's a modest amount to add to it (though Cortina are sticking their heads out with a 30-40cm report!)

It didn't take too long for the skies to start clouding over yesterday after that beautiful start and it was a much greyer feel by the afternoon.

2022 starts with snow still falling.

The award for the most new snowfall reported this morning goes to Hakuba Cortina, they are saying they got 50+cm.

Moderate at times snow falling this morning, and around 20cm of fresh to report.

This morning Cortina is reporting 40cm of fresh snow; 47/Goryu 10cm at base and 30cm up top; and Happo reporting up to 40cm at Usagidaira.
