Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 17cm
Snowfall at base this season 335cm
Posted on Tuesday 18th January 2022 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
The snow continues. It's cold and quite windy too.
It's one of those mornings when I have more snow to report from base than ski areas (base areas, of course). The numbers from the ski areas are, as always, in the list below. Basically, up to 30cm being reported this morning on the mountains.
The top Grat quad lift at Happo-one is closed for the day, the reason being basically them 'dealing with snow'. Not the worst of problems to have, of course.
Expect a break in the clouds tomorrow but the snow should be falling once again on Thursday.
