After some tropical weather over the last couple of days snow cover on the ground was erased in a lot of places.

It is a truly cold morning here in Furano at -11c. There is plenty of good to report with a further 20cm on new snow over night, clear skies and no wind.

A bit of light snow came down early afternoon.

It is a chilly winter morning in Furano with the thermometer showing -6c as I write this.

Yesterday the light rain persisted throughout the day accompanied by warm temperatures of +6c.

Well here we go - the 2017/2018 season kicks off today with the opening of upper areas of the Furano Zone.

Furano Zone will open tomorrow 22 November!

At the time of posting the report yesterday it looked as if the snowfall was done for the day, however I could not have been more wrong.

Soon after yesterday's report the snow changed to rain, and it rained moderately through the afternoon.

The snow continues! Light snow continued through yesterday and it is still snowing.

Snow news is good news and I have just been out and measured 10cm of fresh snow which fantastic.

Yesterday was a bit of an extreme weather event with strong winds for the whole afternoon.

Temperatures have headed south from the low teens that we have had recently. It is currently a chilly +2c at 8am, but the high will only go to around +5c.
