Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 7cm
Snowfall at base this season 55cm

Posted on Friday 24th November 2017 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

Yesterday the light rain persisted throughout the day accompanied by warm temperatures of +6c. Overnight temperatures dipped below zero and it started snowing. There is 7cm accumulation of new snow at base level, which is most pleasing. With yesterdays rain and this new snow it will be a bit slippery underfoot if out walking, so caution is advised. The rain did not hit the upper slopes yesterday so the skiing will be very good today. Right now it is -1c but temperatures will rise into positives. Some further light snow will fall during the day but in the evening rain is likely at base.
