A nice new layer of 10-15cm fresh snow around base areas.

There has been lots of cloud early this morning as some overnight snow eased off. Happo-one is reporting up to 15cm of fresh snow at the top of the Alpen quad lift.

Just a little snow down at base since my report yesterday, with some ski areas talking up to 5-10cm of fresh during the day in upper areas.

I feel the snowfall being reported by ski areas this morning seems curiously on the low side. My measured number beats them, yey.

Ski areas are reporting 10-20cm (and more) on the mountain and I have another 15cm or so to add since my last report.

There's a nice layer of fresh snow on the ground and it is snowing.

It's a cold morning in Hakuba. There's lots of cloud, some light snow falling, but some blue sky in places too.

OK, the snow has started! Just a few cm or so around base areas and a bit more already at higher elevations.

Yesterday we got some windy conditions on the mountain and a bit of snow too.

It is snowing lightly at the moment. A thin layer has accumulated on the top of my car and around my house, though none is sticking on the road outside my place just yet.

I had such a blast with my first turns of the season yesterday. I decided not to take out my new gear, but it wouldn't have been a problem. Very nice.

It really is great to be able to report that as of this morning four ski areas are now open.
