Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano
New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 40cm
Posted on Monday 4th December 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.
Good morning from Hakuba.
And what a beautiful morning it is!
Yesterday it was snowing lightly but it took until later in the day for it to start coming down at a higher rate and start sticking. The result of that snowfall is 6cm to add to my report this morning. (I thought there might have been more reported by the ski areas, but not so).
Anyway, we have blue skies and sun this morning and as I said, it is a beauty. There's some low cloud around early morning, but clear blue skies behind the mountain backdrop.
What a wonderful morning to enjoy the mountains.
We can probably expect extended periods of sun or cloud for a good part of this coming week.
