Independent snow and weather reporting from the Hakuba region of Nagano

New snowfall at base 3cm
Snowfall at base this season 33cm

Posted on Saturday 2nd December 2023 This is an archived report. The latest Hakuba Now report can be found here.

Good morning from Hakuba.

I had such a blast with my first turns of the season yesterday. I decided not to take out my new gear, but it wouldn't have been a problem. Very nice.

This morning a larger area of Hakuba Goryu is open (4 runs now) and another lift at Happo-one is operating.

There is a little snow to report with varying amounts around base areas (up to a few cm) and ski areas are generally reporting up to 10cm in upper areas.

After the clearer skies of yesterday this morning visibility is more limited with light snow falling at the moment. We might get some more but we shouldn't expect much, with fine weather due in the first part of the coming week and somewhat milder temps. So we will need to play with what we got for the moment as we wait for more snow.
