A very gray start to spring here in Furano. Not a hint of blue.

A strong spring storm is inhabiting Hokkaido.

Had some snow overnight. Yippee! Again fairly heavy, when compared to the nearly impossible standards here in Furano.

Awoke to see my car covered in snow after three days of fairly warm temps.

Great day for spring skiing in Furano. Just below freezing currently.

We had a bit of snow last night, 9 cm to be precise. Semi-heavy, very packable.

Down to -16 C last night, so there is no danger of any snow melting any time soon.

Certainly cooler today, and the lovely sunshine has just popped out after being in hiding all morning.

All that promising snowfall yesterday added up to only 3 cm of snow. It's just the way this winter has been.

It's a wonderful snowy day here in Furano. It's been snowing since I got up, and we've got 4 cm of new snow so far.

Pretty much the same as yesterday, except cloudier.

A great day to hit the slopes. 3 cm of new snow.
