Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido
New snowfall at base 6cm
Snowfall at base this season 485cm

Morning All,
Had some snow overnight. Yippee! Again fairly heavy, when compared to the nearly impossible standards here in Furano. But that means it packs well and actually adds to the base, and delays the inevitable decline in snow pack known as Spring.
Still fairly windy, and coming from an unusual direction. What that direction may be, I don't really know or care (probably the west), but what is important and unique is that it is affecting the Ropeway today, which is operating at a slower-than-normal speed. HA! Take that Furano side!!
All good on the Kitanomine Gondola today, which after several days of high winds and resulting closure, plus a bit of snow, should be pretty darn good today.
Still seeing some, what I term, serious skiers coming into town. At this point in the season, the skiing is still great, but the powder is mostly non-existent. If you want the pow-pow, gotta come in Jan to mid-Feb. We could still likely have a nice dump, it's just not as consistent.
Think snow. Think spring.
** Furano Zone Lift B (aka Furano Quad) is closed for the season due to mechanical failure. New braking mechanism must be fabricated.**
Furano Zone: All open except Lift B. A3 run is closed.
Kitanomine: All lifts open. Premium Zone is closed.
Regular lifts closing at 4:00 PM
Night skiing until 7:30 PM tonight on both sides.
