Independent snow and weather reporting from the Furano region of Hokkaido

New snowfall at base 1cm
Snowfall at base this season 466cm

Posted on Tuesday 4th March 2025 This is an archived report. The latest Furano Now report can be found here.

Good Morning skiers and boarders,

Down to -16 C last night, so there is no danger of any snow melting any time soon. High today will be -4 C. Looks like that's going to be the pattern for the next several days. Spring skiing may start in earnest on Sunday with highs of 6+ C, and continuing for several days.

Baaaarely 1 cm of snow overnight. Barely worth mentioning, but I am constrained by the facts.

Crowds are way, way down, so if you hate lines, come to Furano in March.

Think snow.

** Furano Zone Lift B (aka Furano Quad) is closed for the season due to mechanical failure. New braking mechanism must be fabricated.**

Furano Zone: All except Lift B.

Kitanomine: All lifts open. Premium Zone is closed, probably for the season.

Regular lifts closing at 4:00 PM

Night skiing until 6:00 PM tonight on both sides.
