Happy Spring Equinox Skiers & Boarders,
A very gray start to spring here in Furano. Not a hint of blue. Some precipitation is forecast for the afternoon, and with a expected high of 3 C, that would equal r@!n. Maybe some more tomorrow, and the day after, and the day after that too. Oh well. Winter can't last forever. The Kitanomine season will end with a wet whimper instead of glorious sunshine.
Good news is that there was a bit of snow overnight. Another good tidbit is that the groomers attacked the ever deeper dip growing at the top of the Gondola run and the cat tracks. Now it's flat again. Do your part, ski on the sides!
Kitanomine Countdown: 4 more days. Last day will be Sunday, March 23.
Furano Countdown: No worries, Mate! Furano side scheduled to be open until May 6, weather permitting.
Think snow.
** Furano Zone Lift B (aka Furano Quad) is closed for the season due to mechanical failure. New braking mechanism must be fabricated.**
Furano Zone: All open except Lift B. A3 run is closed.
Kitanomine: All lifts open. Premium Zone is closed.
Regular lifts closing at 4:00 PM
Night skiing until 7:30 PM tonight on both sides.
