damian 0
sarcastic response: i have a cracker of a evening planned! Fact: At the very last minute my GF had to delay her arrival in Tokyo so now I wont see her until after NYE and my dog is going off for 7 days of dog hotel on the 31st, so I don't even have him to celebrate with! Net result: I think I will attempt to wax my board with my iron wrapped in al-foil.
snowboard_freak 0
Not much. I am going to watch the fireworks with my girl. Probably head up at midday or so and take out food and drink etc and have a picnic!
sam_casper 0
db's theres a dog HOTEL!? how spanky is that! nice one!
damian 0
not really a dog hotel, just a boarding kennel where he stays and plays with other muts. I just call it a dog hotel. have a great NYE and watch out for people riding camels.
amandanism 0
i think mines going to be quiet do the trains still stop at midnight on new years eve?
damian 0
no, many lines run all night, but only a few trains per hour.
amandanism 0
are you kidding? rock on. i might go out then.
damian 0
The bigger lines are certainly open (so I am told). I know that the Odakyu and Chiyoda lines are running, cause I will be on them in the small on the way to start my Hokkoda trip!
amandanism 0
it would be good if the hibiya line was running. failing that, if i can get myself to either ebisu or shibuya i can probably find my way home
damian 0
Shibuya on a quite day is a nightmare, I couldn't handle it on NYE. Good luck.
sunrise 0
I'll be playing at the Intercontinental Hotel, hamamatsucho, I think it's some kind of jazz lounge or something. Won't know till I get there. If you're in the area pop in. Wherever you are have a good one.
jaws 0
Nursing a bad headache right now.
slow 0
The count down gig at Motion Blue Yokohama was great! It's very nice place to have nice music. I missed sunrise at intercontinental hotel, though.
sunrise 0
What kind of music was at Yokohama? Live band? My gig was a hoot. 2 rooms next to each other on the 5th floor. A couple of guys I know - DJ and singer were doing the soul/disco/countdown show in one room and I was doing the quiet 'jazz bar' thing in the other room for those who wanted to chill, not party. I'll try and give more notice next time there's something that might be remotely interesting.
Raury 0
Well, went to the parte', but it was cold and raining (on and off) so I didn't go for a swim. Did get to watch a very drunk, very pretty redhead run in and out of the surf and get herself wet, then had to help her back up the beach to the house Drank too much, but didn't get arrested, so all in all, a successful evening. slow 0
The main person of the band Toshinori Kondo is a very spiritual jazz?? trumpeter. He was a producer of the World Sacred Music Festival in Hiroshima. If you like spiritual people, you'll like him. Others are guiter, bass, DJs and a man looks like Digital geek. Motion Blue Yokohama is a branch of the Blue Note. Some musicians play in Yokohama before or after Blue Note. Always cheaper and more interesting. Enjoy snow on the mountain, Enjoy music in the city! I also love to enjoy music surrounded by nature.
sunrise 0
Sounds good, slow. World music is right up my ally. I've heard of Motion Blue but never been there. Yokohama's a little far to hang out, though I do sometimes work there and it's probably worth checking out if there's something special on.
