joshnii 2
Check this out. http://www.savenishikigoi.net/ That and the nice save the flying cows story are at least a glimmer of hope/happiness in all this mess.
fukdane 2
I'm glad they saved at least some of the cows. I like cows. Is that the small village where the famous cow fighting festival thing goes on every year? I'm sure I hear something about that on our local news every year (Niigata is next to us)
SKI 15
I love those dudes, just watching them swim about is a real relaxing joy. A house near where I live have a pond with quite a few big dudes in there. He keeps it all in immaculate condition, the whole place is beautiful. Let's hope they can be a success. white-void 0
I really like them too - they cost an absolute fortune back home (don't know how much they cost here, I presume they aren't cheap). I never knew Niigata was the main place for them.
klingon 10
How much do those things cost?
muikabochi 208
Quite a lot, the best ones more than sen-man so I heard. (Is that true?) Actually I went to a koi museum type place in Ojiya just before summer it was really interesting - I wonder if that is still there now? On the same day also went up to Yamakoshi-mura to take a look at all the carp up there. It was a really pretty place. Sure glad I wasn't there on Oct 23rd. 30 minutes to the south was bad enough..... nagpants 1
Sen-man?? Are you serious? I think you can get them for around 5 man +
sanjo 2
You can get them fairly cheap but the big ones cost a fortune. Really sad seeing all those dead ones lying about - but they found the Big Mummy of them all alive and kicking which was a relief.
akibun 0
They have tried to save as many as possible, its good thing. I saw interview with one fisher man and he was so happy to save his "waga ko", the main fish. It was emotional watching his reactions.
HoTRoD 2
Wagako - doesn't that kinda translate as an affectionate "my boy / my girl" ?
