SirJibAlot 0
I usually take it easy on the first day - ride the mountain hit some easy kickers. Early in the season your legs are weak and the snow may not yet be ideal. You don't want to get jacked up early in the season and loose valuable snow time.
slow 0
I was skiing about 5hours yesterday. Fortunately my knee didn't hurt. I felt that my legs were stronger than last season, maybe my bicycling habit every weekend is effective. There is a little sore on my back today but I'm very happy with this little sore. coldcat 0
It took 2 or 3 runs to get to more less the same level as last season. From 3rd run on I was doing tricks that I didn't do last season.
keba 0
Having just got back from skiing (well a month ago... seems so far now ), I can say that it took me a good 6 or 7 ski days to remember how to ski powder (and we flew home the day after I mastered it), but no trouble with technique on the groomers from day one. No training before the trip, so fitness was a bit of an issue on the longer pistes.
hippopotamuses 0
I'm the same. I'm quite, er, large, and so that is an added minus. I don't try to overdo it though, just go out there and enjoy it leisurely (not much choice I suppose! )
fukdane 2
You should give up the cigarettes as well, keba.
keba 0
No smokes for me, fukdane, I'm a cardiologist. It's the sedentary lifestyle that I've embraced that's the problem...
