Kumapix 0
Got some more pics from yesterday up: http://www.snowjapan.com/e/insider/sjmember.php?uid=kumapix the place is gokurakuzaka in Toyama. Small resort with awesome trees if there's pow. We explored a new part yesterday and found good stuff. but I got taken out by a concrete branch and got a split lip. then I lost the handle for my shovel. it was going to be a rotten day but then we found the handle and then ended the day by riding down the snowed in ski jump. he he he

woywoy 0
Sick pics again Kuma. Which Digital SLR are you using???
Kumapix 0
Nikon d50 with 70-300 ed nikkor lens. takes real nice pics. the frames per second is only 2.5 so that sucks. you can't just hold the button down and hope for a good shot!
woywoy 0
Right ... I am using a D70 with 18-70mm Nikkor lense. I havent taken it up the slopes yet though ... How do you keep it safe and secure when you take it up?
bushpig 0
Yeah, I wanna know that too. I have been hesitant to take my D70 out...
woywoy 0
You have a d70 too Bushy? How do you find it? Have you bought many accessories or new lenses etc. for it?
bushpig 0
love it mate. I use a Tamron 28 - 300mm lense, which is great for me cos I love wild-life shots. Got some sweet pics of tonbi (black kites) soaring. I haven't bought anything else for it. You?
Yuki's Passion 1
bushy has some amazing pics. ive seen his porfolio and some need to be in magazines.
woywoy 0
Great Bushy. I have only got the lens kit lense, which is the 18-70mm. I would really like to get a big zoom for it though! How much did you pay for the Tamron lense? I have a few pics up online here at FLICKR. Check them out if you are interested. http://www.flickr.com/photos/62464510@N00/ Do you have any up online anywhere Bushy???
bushpig 0
Mate, nice pics! Some of those night shots at the temples are awesome. I don't have any online. Might look into it. I asked for the Tamron lense instead of the standard one when I got the camera, so dunno how much. I think they go for about 3 or 4 man...
woywoy 0
Cheers Bushy! I have really got into the photog thing over the last year or two but still have a lot to learn. I am not yet really up on all the functions that the D70 has either. Definitely going to look into a BIG MF ZOOM!
bushpig 0
Big zooms are where it is at! Love being able to get in close on things. I am in a similar situation NPM, only really got into it in the last few years. I really enjoy it though

Kumapix 0
NPM I really like your black and orange leaves picture. I take the dslr up in my burton zoom pack. No cover for the cam so I only shoot when it's not snowing. I have mitts that has removeable fingers so my hands don't freeze (1000yen at uniqlo)- i wear them under my burton ak mitts. the zoom bag is real good if you're shooting in the resort but you can't fit a shovel/probe into it. You can only carry a cheap 100$ tripod on it, not a heavy duty pro one. I use it for video too. I have a rain cover on my video camera though, so I can shoot when it's snowing. I also take a collapsible umbrella to block snow/sun
woywoy 0
Cheers Kuma. Your action pics on the snow are always excellent too! I really don't have enough action photos ... What is this zoom bag about? Is it a camera bag made by Burton or what?
