longboardsk8man 0
Hi Can't remember the names of them, but I had a few unbearably slow rides on lifts over the weekend at Hakuba. Anyone know any other slooooooow lifts in Japan we're best off avoiding??
me jane 0
I thought it just depended on how busy the resort was. Don't they slow the lifts down to control the number of people on the slopes when it's busy? If there are more than a few people waiting, the best way to go is the single person line - always moves faster cos so many people seem to think that sitting next to their friends on the lift is much more important than getting to the top of the mountain. gnarly-dude 1
Never thought that was the case me jane- I just thought all "romance lifts" were painfully slow.
snowboarding-sam 0
I try to avoid them if at all possible. Some of them are painfully slow. Went on one at Iwappara and nearly fell asleep. They have 2 quads though so I quickly learnt to avoid that one!
intr0 0
most would be fine if retards didn't fall off them all the time
snowboarding-sam 0
Fall off? I don't think I've ever seen anyone fall off a lift!
intr0 0
by fall off i mean fall over at the beginning or end of the lift.. causing a slowdown or stop
number9 0
Hey, you were a beginner once too. But yeah, some people just don't have the athletic aptitude to be on the hills, even if they wanted to.

Is that to give you time for a bit of "romance" on the way up?
7-11 2
If pair lifts are called Romance lifts, what are single lifts called?
snobee 0
2 years ago my wife was on a "Romance" pair lift (we don't always stick together) and a young 20ish guy started taliking to her. You know the usual - nice day - howz it going - etc and then he said, "Wow you're really cute" in Japanese of course. At the time she was wearing a beanie, goggles & scarf and a very puffy jacket. I only could recognize her because of the beanie, so what was he after? Of course they parted at the top when he suggested she should go with him on this trail. Ahhh - to be young and sniffing again without a care.
frannyo 2
Perhaps he liked what he was sniffing. Or maybe he thought she was a tarento.

Roger's head 0
Joetsu Kokusai has some of the slowest I have ever experienced.
Hokkaidough 4
I think all pairs are pretty much the same, I don't think I can remember a really fast one - do they do high speed pairs? Quads are cool.
big-will 7
When you get older those pairs give you a few minutes to get your breath back
scouser 4
The few single lifts I have tried have been the worst ever. Can't even remember where they were now but they weren't fun that's for sure. Seemed to go on forever.

happyhappy 0
I've been on a few that seemed rather fast - newer ones. Some of the older ones are just painfully slow though, you spend most of your day sat on them looking at other people enjoying themselves.
