Hi wave.gif

I just came back from a weekend in Yuzawa and after the snow of yesterday spent today at Iwappara, really great it was. It was really bootiful up there and had the camera so took quite a lot of snaps, thought I'd share.

I'll get some journals written as well soon.

Cheers!

Hi

Where is this place and how do i get there?

And after trying to communicate to those at the JR lines on the best deal to get to Niigata i am still a little confused.

Saw your amazing photo's of Iwaparra over xmas day on the site and am thinking thats its the best pick of feils at Niigata..am i right? I am trying to find the best place to board/ski around that way and the best possible way to do it from Tokyo.

Been here for 4 weeks and missing the waves at home in OZ and the next best thing to surfing is to having good snow and there seems to be lots of that going around at present.

Could anyone help a person in need? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers all.

Go to Echigo Yuzawa station (80 mins or so on the Joetsu Shinkansen from Tokyo station), get the Iwappara bus from the station and you are there in 10 minutes.

Simple!

Not sure if you'd say it was the best - depends what you want. Did you read the reviews and journals about the resort?

Nice pics by the way!

Yeah you saw right, just covering bases.

What would you suggest being the best resort for 'longer' runs with facilities good for boarding other than Iwaparra?

Also looking for accomodation. Do you suggest that we organise when we get there or before and what would be the cheapest within that area.

Sorry for so many questions.

Everyone will have their own best. I think Iwappara is ok (and probably one of the best places out there for beginners) but not a huge amount of challenge there - the top is good fun though. You can pretty much see it from the pics that ssam posted.

Bigger places are Kagura/Naeba.

Check out the reviews and journals and stuff on the site, there is already a ton of info on here.

Cheers mate! Sounds great. Thanks for the info on the resorts. Yeah looking for something more challenging than a begginers resort.

Have done a few seasons and i know that Nagano is the place for better snow but time and $$ permits.
