Does anyone know the line that gets you to Niigata via bus? I saw the link above to an english bus website but unsure if that is to Niigata or not. Is the JTB helpful in any way?

I have been here for 5 weeks (from Melbourne) and looking for snow. What resort do you recommend and how does Gala rate against Hotham or is there no comparison.

Hi all of help!! After spending countless amounts of hours trying to find or translate the best possible way to a decent resort in Niigata, the only option left is to ask fellow snow enthusiasts. Does anyone know of packages from Tokyo to either Kagura or Iwappara (incl travel/lift/accomodation if possible) for 2 days. The only other option is to try our luck at a day trip to Gala which i am not too fond of. Obviously the cheaper the better. Any help would be greatly greatly appreciated. Cheers.

Cheers mate! Sounds great. Thanks for the info on the resorts. Yeah looking for something more challenging than a begginers resort. Have done a few seasons and i know that Nagano is the place for better snow but time and $$ permits.

Yeah you saw right, just covering bases. What would you suggest being the best resort for 'longer' runs with facilities good for boarding other than Iwaparra? Also looking for accomodation. Do you suggest that we organise when we get there or before and what would be the cheapest within that area. Sorry for so many questions.

Hi Where is this place and how do i get there? And after trying to communicate to those at the JR lines on the best deal to get to Niigata i am still a little confused. Saw your amazing photo's of Iwaparra over xmas day on the site and am thinking thats its the best pick of feils at Niigata..am i right? I am trying to find the best place to board/ski around that way and the best possible way to do it from Tokyo.
