fb_steve 0
Hey everyone, i've booked my trip to Japan spending some time in Tokyo, then up to Hakuba @ Snowbeds for 10 days. I have a flight from Narita to Bangkok @ 10am so i'm forced to spend a night in Narita before this flight. So far i've done my trip REALLY cheap, is there any budget accommodation in Narita which is close to the airport and easy to get to from Shinjuku? Everything looks so expensive so far! Thanks for any suggestions and advice, - Steve
powwwers 0
don`t bother steeevo- you devo. ya can spend tha night @ the airry no probs. i once had a 7am. flight and there was no way i could make it in time from my pad. and there was no point in stayin @ a hotel, as i`d have to check-out @ 5. so i made me way to the airport and set-up camp on one of tha `couches`. as everything was shuttin up, a friendly security officer came around and took my details. there were several others in the same `boat`. dont expect any sleep though. most things shut down, but there is just enuff activity to keep ya from gettin some good z`s. hope that helps
fb_steve 0
thanks guys! both options i'll look into, if we did stay in the terminal it would be for at least 12 hours so not sure about that.. is there anything near the airport to kill time? Cause i could leave Hakuba early, arrive in Nartia early afternoon and spend the day doing something in Narita they stay the night. I've been there twice but at night and have no idea, is it a nice place or just an industrial area or what? thanks again for the help!

marnix 0
Narita (city) has a pretty good bar/night scene a good mix of locals and crews enjoying their evening in between flights. So go out and party all night then head over to the airport for your flight.
fb_steve 0
I had a look at the Holiday in and they charge per room so per person its only $45 AU a night, which is more down to my level so i'll probably book that. pie-eater - i'm in tokyo 4 nights from the 30th of Jan, then 10 nights in Hakuba, then 1 night in Narita (13th). Then off to Phuket! -steve

2pints-mate 0
Last year (before the tsunami nightmare) a friend of mine went over there and had a fun time, but he said it had been developed a lot and was way more "commercialised" than when he went 8 years earlier. UKers like to use that word "commercialised" and moan when using it, so it could mean a whole range of things. I know we tried our best to spend as little time as possible at Narita. But good luck whatever fb.

fb_steve 0
phuket is not a hole, patong is overcrowded yes, but its a bloody big place and we're avoiding the crowds for the quiet beaches and islands
TJ OZ 0
We were in the same dilemma in Feb this year. We ended up staying out all night starting out in Shibuya and ending up in Rapongi and caught the train at Tokyo Station at about 5am to Narita. They have a place where you can have a shower (personal ensuite) at the airport for about $5 just inside customs.
mattlucas 0
And having a shower after a big night out is probably the best thing ever
