grungy-gonads 54
Wigan is where pie-eater is from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wigan From that page "Pie-eaters" Wigan is home to the annual World Pie Eating Championship, usually held at Harry's Bar on Wallgate. The competition has been held since 1992, and in 2007 a vegetarian option was added. Wiganers are sometimes referred to as "pie-eaters". The name is said to date from the 1926 General Strike, when Wigan miners were starved back to work before their counterparts in surrounding towns and so were forced to metaphorically eat "humble pie". pie-eater 207
But more than that, Wigan is home to the best pies in the world. And we eat lots of pies.
JA2340 16
Wikipedia is a poor reference. It is possible to edit the reference to make it say whatever you want for a time. So, is Wigan real?
pie-eater 207
No. I made it up.
JA2340 16
But more than that, Wigan is home to the best pies in the world. And we eat lots of pies. And, to prove this you have eaten pies from EVERY baker in EVERY country in the entire world?? Sorry, not believing!
pie-eater 207
And, to prove this you have eaten pies from EVERY baker in EVERY country in the entire world?? Yes. Lots of them TWICE just to make SURE.

Tubby Beaver 209
Well coming from a pie town as well, I too doubt Wigan's claim to being the pie centre of the world BUT having tried a fair few Aussie Pies, Im sure Wigan's are better than Oz's

634-maru 4
If these robots were like the Kraftwerk robots, we'd be ok. They just 'dance' (slowly) and talk about being robots and computing and stuff.
pie-eater 207
You're right. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=okhQtoQFG5s They also perhaps unknowingly reveal some of their weak points. If their batteries aren't charged, they imply that they won't be full of energy. And that they are programmed to do 'anything you want us to'. So presumably we could programme them to 'not kill'. (And make some pies, or clean the toilet). I'd programme them to dance a bit better too. And not look so German.
grungy-gonads 54
Would love to see Kraftwerk 'live', I believe the sound is incredible.

veronica 2
Would love to see Kraftwerk 'live', I believe the sound is incredible. Me too. Got the Minimum Maximum DVD, which that Robots clip is from. Very curious 'show' they put on but no doubt it would sound awesome being there.
KlingKlang 1
The KlingKlang robots are not very fast, either at moving or making new music (!), so I don't think there's much threat from them.
