big-will 7
Former England striker Michael Owen has been taunted on Twitter after his attempts to set up a Q&A session with fans backfired. The ex-Liverpool man who rose to world stardom with his sensational goal at the 1998 World Cup has been the target of Anfield fans after his controversial move to Manchester United. Reds and supporters of Newcastle, where he made only 71 appearances in four years, baited the clubless forward about the amoutn of time he spent as a sub at Old Trafford. Owen started only 31 league games in three years for Sir Alex Ferguson's side and has been linked with Everton and Stoke since being released at the end of the season. The trouble started for Owen on Sunday morning, when it a series of Tweets he told the 1.45million followers of his Twitter account @themichaelowen : "I get a lot of requests for Q&A sessions so will take questions on Twitter with answers via video that will be posted on my App and online. "If you ask your question with the hashtag askMOwen I will pick the top ten and answer them on video. You can tweet your questions until tomorrow night on anything! I'll do the replies during the week. Don't forget to use hashtag askMOwen ." But the 32-year-old could not have expected what would happen next. Questions included @greglarmouth asking, " I'm expecting a parcel on Thursday, would you be able to sit in for me while I'm out? I have Racing UK & ATR & my sofa's leather?" and @FootyHumour wanting to know: "Which stadium has the most comfortable bench?" Twitter user @RealGazMac wrote: "Did u and Hargreaves compare injuries like Mel Gibson n Rene Russo in Lethal Weapon?" and @Dante_Banks wrote: "If you cross breed a cat with a goldfish how long is it before you realise your career ended 6 years ago?" The jibes continued, with @schmuckdonald writing: "do you have nightmares where you're chased by hamstrings?" and @SiClancy asked: "If you were a racehorse, would your name be a) Shot In The Paddock Treatment Table or c) Reserves." In a much-Retweeted post, @StonesLfc wanted to know: "How much did it cost to advertise yourself at the Liverpool-Toronto match last night?", adding the photo below... Meanwhile @YosemiteSami wrote: "Many years ago, you were a good player & used to score plenty of goals, so.... What's the secret to cooking a top toasted crumpet?", @11Jonesy11 Tweeted: "Why don't u give your PL winners medal to one of the groundsmen as they were on the pitch more than you?" and @StonesLfc said: Biscan, Josemi, Nunez and Traore all have Champions League winners medals. Do you?" And things got surreal when @TinheadFTM asked: "Do you ever ride your dog around the house like it's a horse and feed it ketamine? No? Thought not, you boring ****." Owen has shown himself to have a good sense of humour in the past when confronted by Twitter taunts. After being taunted by TV's Piers Morgan over the time he spent on the bench last season, he Tweeted a photograph of his trophy cabinet.

pie-eater 207
The FA has yet to announce whether the 33 year-old faces action for responding to a tweet from a follower who described Cole as a “choc ice” in the wake of his evidence as a witness in the court case involving John Terry and Ferdinand’s brother, Anton, but Telegraph Sport understands the Manchester United defender has been asked to provide an explanation for his actions. I seriously can't believe this. They are going to announce something? Perhaps he'll get 6 months ban this time.
scouser 4
Couldn't make it up could you. Eight senior players were understood to be in disagreement over unpaid salaries, though Luke Varney has since joined Leeds. On Monday, Supporters group SOS Pompey handed over an open letter to the players at the club's training ground in a bid to persuade players to compromise on their wages and administrator Trevor Birch has said former owner Balram Chainrai could pull out of a proposed deal to buy the club if more players are not moved on. And he told ESPN Soccernet: "Everybody, including the players, have been served notice that the club will close down on August 10." Defender Tal Ben Haim and striker Kanu are among the players owed significant wages, with both players reportedly claiming around £3million in unpaid salary. And Birch said. "The only way the club can be saved is if the players accept compromise deals. Taihen times for Portsmouth.
