Metabo Oyaji 71
How did the numbers end up for the season, ILoveZao, do you know?
SnowJapan Admin SnowJapan#Andrew 6 Posted May 8, 2012 SnowJapan Admin Share Posted May 8, 2012 ILoveZao will probably have more insight, but someone I know in Zao told me that they were about 20% down on two seasons ago (which was the last "normal" season), and about the same as last season - which had a number of weeks closed after March 11th of course. They seem to be positive that next season will see an increase which is good to hear.
muikabochi 208
So about the same as last year with that big gap that it had. I would imagine places look as last year as a special-circumstance one really.
ILoveZao 8
Yes that is actually about what I have heard as well.
Metabo Oyaji 71
How about the hotels, ILZ? I'm guessing they may have done somewhat worse than the ski area itself, with visitors being more "local"and fewer visitors from afar?
ILoveZao 8
I guess less. More less from overseas as some people seemed to make the effort to come and support. I don't know actually I have been out of Zao for a while now. Will chat with some friends when I get back up there.
