joshnii 2
I was in the local Docomo shop this morning looking at a foma internet USB connecting dongley thingy. I can't think of the name but basically you stick it in your PC and away you go on the internet, connecting anywhere that a docomo phone is ok. So, get down the the price. 16300 yen if I buy today. But if I want until Thursday, on that day I will pay 12500 yen. That's not all. Get this - included in the above cheaper price is a free netbook computer with Windows XP, 1GB memory, 160GB HDD and 10 inch screen. Just looked online and it's about 40000 yen on kakaku. I deciced to wait until Thursday!

joshnii 2
But anyway, the point was more about the cheaper price plus a 40000 yen computer on Thursday!
thursday 1
thata sounds good. Watch out for the signing up contract period you have to commit to or the data plan that comes with it.
joshnii 2
Yes I was wary about that but it's nothing too much. 2 years contract, which I'm fine with. As much as you want upper limit just under 6000 yen. 1000 yen a month if I don't use it. I asked why the free computer and the lady just said that they want to encourage uptake of the data thingy and it's a short term offer just at that shop (all Niigata?) to get some publicity.. bobby12 0
Free netbook? Will it run on normal NTT home internet connection or do they force you to use the keitai docomo dongle all the time?
joshnii 2
No, you can use it however you want. And I can use the dongle thingy however I want as well. Sounds great doesn't it!

joshnii 2
I had to laugh when she was being very apologetic about the computer not coming with a mouse.
grungy-gonads 54
Stuff like that messes with the mind. 16k cash today or 12k + a computer on Thursday! Sounds like a deal!
thursday 1
yeah, but it's probably, noc ommitment to contract or min payment per month for 16K, but a special deal launching on Thursday!!
joshnii 2
No, it isn't. Same 2 year period and same cost. It really is. I was there throwing questions at her - many the same re-worded - just to make sure I wasn't misunderstanding!
klingon 10
sounds great deal that. I actually noticed the docomo ads recently, seems they are pushing this pc/internet connection. Will surely be considerably better than Willcom too who must be depressed about it all.
RobBright 35
Willcom were never going to be taken seriously due to its reliance on the PHS market. Give it a few years and they will either be out of business or piggy-backing on another network.
Tubby Beaver 209
willcom rule....my 1st bill 2500 yen, 2nd bill 3000 yen!!
BagOfCrisps 24
So it got more expensive?
Tubby Beaver 209
yeah but this is my first FULL month, the 1st bll was part of a month and my average bill with Softbank was 10,000 yen
2pints-mate 0
How come it's so different Tubs?
thursday 1
PHS, it's not cellular, not 3G, deadend technology
2pints-mate 0
If it does the job for Tubs though and is that much cheaper - why waste on 'better' technology?
