How to make a point clearly....

A bit of advice from friendly Forum members required.

On our Contact Us page, above the contact form the following message is written:

Quote:
Please note before contacting us with specific questions:

We are an information website/online community - not a travel agency. This means that unfortunately we will not be able to answer specific questions about hotels, resorts, travel arrangements, specific bus schedules, where to buy big boots etc - or provide specific information about employment opportunities at resorts. For the most part, the information that we do have is already on our site. Check our Site Map and Start Here pages. (Due to the very large number of mails that we receive, it is impossible for us to reply to each and every one explaining this.)

We also recommend that you register on the popular SnowJapanForums and post your specific question on there - you are more than likely to get a good response! Thanks for your understanding.

We still get tons of people sending messages using that form asking specific questions about.... hotels, resorts, travel arrangements, specific bus schedules, where to buy big boots etc.

Is the message not clear?

Any ideas on how to make it clearer (without using a font size 72)?

wink

PS We'll be adding more info about some of those things in the coming months

Yes - when members sign up, put that on as a pop up window to read after clicking it, and a check box.

If they haven't read it, when they come to the check box, a reminder comes up that they haven't read it. Then make it a ban able offence if they do anything against it.

Problem is, we don't really like ignoring emails and do enjoy being as friendly as possible.

We'd much prefer people get the message and didn't send the messages in the first place!

friend

(We got 1 message this morning that had 10 long and detailed questions. Not even a please on the end, it was more like a demand!)

Well how about a reverse virus?

If they send you an email and it matches the description as stated, then the pc sends a virus back to their pc, blows it up for being too stupid to understand a simple hint, thus saving the internet from them?

Send them a reply with incorrect information. For the shits and giggles.

I doubt SJ would want to get involved in that kind of thing - they are well busy enough as it is and when moneys involved expectations come along with it and for such little amounts the hassle is probably not worth it.
