thursday 1
I've said this before. Korea. The land of lift queues.
Ezorisu 0
Oh - how could I forget this! Sapporo Kokusai has a singles line for the gondola. Great for bypassing the busloads of schoolkids on weekdays!
akibun 0
Do you live near there Ezorisu. My friend lives just 1km from that resort. Still I did not able to visit.
quattro 1
Akibun Sure you don't have it mixed up with another place. I did not think there were any towns or people living within 15k of Sapporo Kousai
Ezorisu 0
Could be in Jouzankei-onsen mura... that's just down the road a bit. But to answer Akibun's question - no, I am in Sapporo-shi, Chuou-ku. The bus ride takes a little over an hour and the round-trip bus ticket and a one-day lift ticket is 4600 yen. its-a-clock 0
4600 yen - thats on the steep side isn't it?
Ezorisu 0
That 4600 yen is all-inclusive - the outbound bus from Sapporo, the one day lift ticket, and the bus back to Sapporo.
RobBright 35
Crikey thats cheap man! Real cheap....

Tubby Beaver 209
I am still dumbfounded that with the amount of native english speakers in Japan (let alone the Ozzie hordes in Niseko) that they can still make spelling mistakes. Where did you find this Thurs?
thursday 1
Niseko United website. The best team in Hokkaido.
Ezorisu 0
That's a deal, except the bus ride gets you into Niseko rather late in the morning, and the last bus back isn't very late in the evening either, so your on-mountain time gets really limited. You'd have to wear you skiing/boarding clothes onto the bus and dash straight to the lifts to get your 8-hours worth!
stemik 14
still though....who could do 8 hours of ski-ing/ riding.....most of the tourists I see are flaking out around 3pm
thursday 1
oooo, don't think I can last 8 hours though. Def worth it for Sapporans.
Ezorisu 0
True about the 8-hours... Now if there was wireless internet connection all the way there on the bus - now that would be something!
stemik 14
just get a good book! and sleep all the way home!
Tubby Beaver 209
how long does the bus journey take from Sapporo to Niseko?
quattro 1
Too long there needs to be a highway going that direction
Tubby Beaver 209
Its all local roads??!! That sucks, you'd think the most famous resort on the island would have a good connection to its largest city!!
thursday 1
Niseko Sapporo? Give it 2.5 hours
quattro 1
2.5 hours with good traffic. I have seen it take over 4 hours in bad weather due to traffic
HelperElfMissy 42
It was dumping pretty steadily when we were doing the in and out this January - and there were a number of road crews working that reduced it to one lane (hence wait times) and we were 2.5 hrs Niseko to/from Sapporo Shin Chitose. Our friends were sure it would take 4 hours, and had heard so - so despite being on the same flight as us they left on a bus 3 hours before us. We all had lunch together at the airport in the end, and we were there in plenty of time. As hubby said - whats the worst that can happen. Bus is late, you miss your plane. Plenty of spare seats both ways anyway I am sure we could have rebooked for the next available flight.
