nulla 0
Haven't looked at the Niseko cam for about a 6 months. Doesn't seem to have changed much. What the hell is going on over there?

snowboard_freak 0
Don't worry fella's the dump has begun now. Should be a pretty nice fall over the next couple of days.
Ocean11 0
I don't know where you're getting your info matey. For a forecast "Snow, then clear" doesn't sound like a dump to me.... Until you have the little snowmen lined up like soldiers for a week, I don't see much being rideable.
alferg 0
Whats that then, a bleedin scotch mist? http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resortdetail.php?resid=120 (well, from saturday onwards anyway...)
scoobydoo 0
Much more re-assuring when theres no clouds in with the little buggers. 1 big snowman nothing else is what is best.
Ocean11 0
Scotch mist is exactly what you'll get with an indication like that. Unless you get the snowmen on top, you have nothing that's going to make a base.
alferg 0
thats depressing... didnt know that... i see theres a fat snowman for today though!
scoobydoo 0
Yeah, but check the just updated Now! page....
alferg 0
Wednesday 3rd December 2003, 1:35PM Snow flakes falling on and off today, but current air and ground temperatures are still too warm for the snow to collect properly. Huey-san really needs to get his act together!
minus 1
Huey Lewis??
alferg 0
yeah..."and the news"... ...which might be good, if the niseko locals are on the ball? from http://nisekohirafu.com Locals still say we will be having snow for the next eight days, and that it will mostly be snowing heavily. We all hope they know what they are talking about! i hope so too!
Markie 0
Yes, it does look like snow in hirafu right now!
snowboard_freak 0
O11 - i was looking at some of the maps for the next couple of days (not the little snowmen pictures that so many seem to put faith in) and of course the webcam as Markie has just posted. It's obviously snowing there and that can only be a good thing.
alferg 0
O11 will only be happy when he's got a snowman on top... he likes it like that...
Ocean11 0
Gotta have these little white muthers lined up and marching to the same tune... I've been reading a whole swathe of indicators these last 3 years, and there's only one I've found to be reliable. And if you don't know what that is by now, you haven't been paying attention.
Markie 0
Don't let him fool you. O11 only sounds like a grump and always complaining but he seems quite content with his own "lot in life". At least that's my impression.
alferg 0
so what is the significance of the different coloured hats? & erm, ok... look, im sorry mr Ocean, but I havent been paying attention...send me to the back of the class & spank me with your ruler if you so wish... I'm assuming you mean that the snowmen are the most reliable indicator? please enlighten me! snowjapan needs a frog... there's this guy called "the frog" who predicts snowfalls in Aus, & he's rather good at it... gives estimates on how much will fall & to what altitude, 1-2 weeks in advance. I've learnt a lot from watching the forecasters on ski.com.au... I dont yet fully understand how it works in Japan... the frogs site >> http://snowatch.snow.net.au/
mikazooki 0
yeah, i asked the hat question last year, and got no responce... explain the hats
mattlucas 0
Looking good. Here comes Winter. The Austrailian frog should be a Cane Toad.
alferg 0
he should indeed be a cane toad check this out - its defiantely accumulating! http://home.swiftdsl.com.au/~alferg/japan_2004_season/03_12_03_anim.mov & there's 2 big snowmen now - with their mysterious green hats & purple gloves http://www.snowjapan.com/e/resorts/resortdetail.php?resid=
SnowJapan.Com#2 0
It seems that the color of the gloves and hats those cute little snowmen wear depends on their preferred fashion for the day. Also heard rumors that the snowboarding snowmen prefer the green to the blue hats. They seem real happy with their cute little green hats today in Niseko, don't they? (Snowman fashion does not affect the weather forecast)
damian 0
How about you get some of them real cool predictive jellyfish on that weather page of yours???
