I think your method will only be helpful one there are a s**tload of votes placed, and it won't make an awful lot of difference then. The rankings themselves aren't that interesting (unless we are going to have some bets placed), except that we're going to see a lot of small resorts that are well liked by the small numbers of people who visit them giving them high scores, and bumping them up the rankings.
