And sorry I drop out every few days, but Tsondaboy, no I'm not strong in math, but we're talking high school statistics here, so I feel qualified. I think your method will only be helpful one there are a s**tload of votes placed, and it won't make an awful lot of difference then.

 

The rankings themselves aren't that interesting (unless we are going to have some bets placed), except that we're going to see a lot of small resorts that are well liked by the small numbers of people who visit them giving them high scores, and bumping them up the rankings.

 

And big-will... I didn't start it, it was Tsondaboy.

No!! Not so! Whoever told you that was WRONG, WONG, WRONG!

The mean is the total divided by the number of items (which is what SJ does). The median is the central item, so for example given the following items 12, 24, 26, 27, 39, 98, 100, the median would be 27.
the mean would be (12 + 24 + 26 + 27 + 39 + 98 + 100)/7
