Markie 0
That's what I tried to do. Never mind, I might get it eventually, I have been successful in the past in the old format, but I'm a slow learner.

skidaisuki 0
Is Asahidake open?
Go Native 70
I think they have or they are about to close for a few weeks maintenance. They re-open on 11 Dec I think.
scouser 4
How far from Furano is that good looking place?
thursday 1
Look at FUrano in the middle. Then look at Asahidake. Day trip. Not showing you where Niseko is. It's a secret.
Markie 0
That's not a secret! It's in Australia!
Tubby Beaver 209
Just follow the boomerangs, they always return don't they?? Wow, Asahidake looks great already...really wish I lived in Hokkaido at this very momoent!!
thursday 1
By my reckoning, I would prefer to live in Hokkaido if I were to live in Japan. Sapporo just has so much personality. And the countryside has so much variety. Some of the best seafood anywhere. But right now, I've got more hectic things to do here.
Tubby Beaver 209
I've heard that about Sapporo, and in returning this year i did think about moving there until the missus put the kybosh on that idea.
Ezorisu 0
Today still above freezing most everywhere in Hokkaido. No new snow forecast for a while... Curses!
Ezorisu 0
Whoo! There was some fresh snowfall up high in the Southwest and in central Hokkaido last night - go check out the Asahidake webcam and the Hokkaido traffic cameras in the links in previous posts. Hope this is the start of something that will continue from here on out, rather than just a small drop.
Go Native 70
Ezorisu I wouldn't get too excited yet. This weekend some rain will move in and it will be mild with snow only on the higher peaks. At this stage it's starting to look good for later next week for the first decent snowfalls to low levels. Looking at the following forecast chart there is a lot of cold air moving out of Asia. Of course it's a fair way out and things may change but looking good currently
Ezorisu 0
I wasn't feeling very optimistic, but it's pretty easy to feel that little giddyness when snow appears (albeit briefly)! Come on snow!
skidaisuki 0
Go Native, where's that chart from?

skidaisuki 0
Thanks. I'm no metereologist, but as you suggest from the pressure chart for next Wednesday, it looks like the start of a cold NW airstream, and hopefully the start of some real snowfalls to follow... Markie 0
Thanks, Go Native and skidaisuki, that's what I'm waiting to hear.
thursday 1
Markie, you've still got lots of time before your trip.
skidaisuki 0
Markie - still in hope more than expectation, but it'll become clearer early next week exactly what will happen. No updates to Now Reports so far - but the webcams show that various parts of Hokkaido have had snow over the past 24 hours
Markie 0
Meanwhile, I'll just settle on brushing my hair every morning and watch the flakies fall.
Go Native 70
We had a little snow on Annupuri last night but I'd think that Furano would have got something more substantial as a lot more snow fell further north.
