dude, it has strayed a long way from being just SNOW photography, and right from the beginning. You started the thread so if you wanna put your foot down on that then that's fine. But, my personal opinion is that it's easier having it all in the one spot.

yeah, i wasnt asking for everyone to start dumping random photos in the snow photo thread. i kinda agree with kuma on this one, although there have been some non-snow pics posted.

i just wanted to see some examples of people's pics. there's a lot of tech talk going on, so i figure everyone is a good photog and i wouldn't mind checking out their pics. a link to a photo site is fine,

also, if people aren't keen to post their pics, then why bother with all the talk about how fantastic xyz camera is? talk's cheap...

The D200 is a great camera. I use it to shoot my baby, got about 7,000 shots, everyone of which gives me great pleasure. It would be meaningless to anybody else, so why would I feel compelled to post them.

And as this is the shopping thread, D300 next on my shopping list.

bushy get new boots! everybody's got their own favourite boot though so it's best to just go to the shop and try them on. A couple of times the boot I was set on buying (after months of research) didn't fit me right and gave me pressure points when I tried it on so I had to go with something different

i need new boots too. i've got some northwaves which are dead dead dead.

maybe i'm too paranoid, but i don't trust all the fancy new lacing systems - when that breaks you're pretty much up shit creek

I have an extremely old school pair of santa-cruz boots! Old lace-ups. Got em for 2000 yen in about 1999 and have been wearing them ever since. Very comfy, good support, and dry and warm! One of the seams is just starting to go though. See if I can get through this season.

i'm not brewing for a fight here, but if you predominantly just take photos of your baby, then why do you need such a fantastic camera setup?
yes, i understand that you're super into photography, and that is awesome and i'm not knocking you for that, but you've been talking about how some camera's and lenses are so much better than others - does it really matter for the types of pics you're getting?

haha, i'm not looking for a blue. but i think my question is legitimate.

thursday - if you are just super into your gear, that's fine with me, i don't mind. everyone needs a hobby and it doesn't bother me what you spend your money on.

spook, errrr, the answer is yes.

I am accumulating equipment, and books to help me be a better photographer. When the snow comes I will be there to play with my toys. Right now I am portraiting with my baby and I am enjoying every bit of it.

All right, you boys get back to your popcorn and beers.
