Go Native 70
Well looks like we might have our first day over 30 degrees this summer in Kutchan tomorrow. May even get a couple of days in a row! Now I know for all you guys down south this is hardly uncommon but up here we'll really struggle with it that hot (especially as most of us don't have AC in Hokkaido). Tubby Beaver 209
its been hotter than Scarlett Johansson in her sussies lying in your bed down here. Yesterday was apparently the hottest day of the year, got to 36. Today was hot as well, I spent most of it half sleeping at the beach, great!!
pie-eater 207
I hear it is rather hot over there Surviving, folks?
soubriquet 0
Yesterday was 36 and I had to change my shirt three times. It's 7.30, and I've just fired up the aircon. Miserable.
Go Native 70
Well we got to 30.3 today and tomorrow they are forecasting 32 which will be one of the hottest days I've ever had here. I was so pizzed off that I had to work today as it would have been very nice at the beach...
muikabochi 208
Yes, VERY hot. Life is at half speed.
TJ OZ 0
Everyone is telling me it's hot here in Hakuba but for me I think it is perfect summer days. Swimming in Lake Aokiko is awesome looking up at the ski runs. Crank the barbie and crack a beer. I feel like I'm back in Oz.
scouser 4
How hot is it actually?
soubriquet 0
Yesterday was 36C. In Perth that would be OK, but as always, it's the humidity that's the killer. Five minutes out of the aircon, and I'm soaked in sweat. Go back in, I'm wet and freezing. I couldn't get my body temperature right.
soubriquet 0
36 again today but at night the temperature goes down. Life in the bonchi is tough but it makes wonderful stonefruit.
ausi ski bum 1
We get 45C regular in summer here, but as you say we are better equipped with ducted air conditioning etc, must make all you expat Aussies feel at home.
Curt 1
45 C? Sounds like a true nightmare. Back to Japan and it is H O T!
Tubby Beaver 209
The difference is the humidity here though. Unless of course you live near to Queensland, which is hot and humid!! i don't actually mind the heat, I enjoyed a whole year of perpetual summer when I was in Oz, but its the humidity that kills over here. Yesterday I was visiting in-laws down in Shizuoka, my girlfriend's nephew is only 1 month old!! But needless to say it was HOT down there!
yamaha 0
It is extremely hot here as well (Osaka at the moment). Late June - late August here is not a lot of fun for me. My body just does not like the heat and humidity and complains to me a lot.
Tubby Beaver 209
I don't actually mind as I'm off all through august so can just hang at the beach and take a dip to cool off. But if I was working....that'd be a different story! Yesterday tried to have a kick around with a football, but my gf lasted only 10 mins, it was so hot. Ended up find a beer shop and drinking outside it all afternoon....great!
rach 1
So is it going to behave and cool down a bit by early next week... Fingers crossed!
Go Native 70
We had two days in a row reaching 33 here in Kutchan and today should reach 30 again, but thankfully from tomorrow it should start to cool down again.
kkk 7
Thankfully it is a little where I am. How is it up in Hokkaido?
scouser 4
An almost chilly 18 degrees here and lots of wind on the water front making it feel almost cold at times, even had my thick jumper on today!
Go Native 70
Finally cooled down yesterday and thankfully the outlook has temperatures being a lot more moderate.
