fukdane 2
So those huge rabbits were in the news the other day but is seems the delightful new kyodai-burger that you can get at McDonalds with a mouthwatering 4 pieces of, er, "meat" (100% no less) is in the news. Anyone tried one?
oo 1
754 calories. Yum.
2pints-mate 0
Sounds lovely. I hope they are serving them up when we get there
longboardsk8man 0
From Gaishoku Nippo 18th Jan Japan McDonald’s launched ‘Mega Mac on 12th and sold 3.32 million units of this particular product in four days. This is nearly double their expected sales. (rough calculations = about 150 TONNES of 'beef' that have been sold in this burger alone - in only 4 days..)
2pints-mate 0
3.32 million in 4 days! Sounds a lot to me. What a fabulous name as well.
longboardsk8man 0
only in Japanese - but http://www.mcdonalds.co.jp/whatsnew/release/20070116/ 3800 McDonalds outlets in Japan!!!
number9 0
I see a lot of people trying it just because it's new in Japan (I did too). But I'm not sure how many will buy again. So I doubt the initial pace of consumption will continue. I like how the marketing campaign has done a complete 180 from the recent salad-healthy image they've been promoting
longboardsk8man 0
about the only time i'll buy into that 'buy it - try it because its new' is about 6 am after an absolute skinful...
Mudguts 0
Thats alot of beef devoured in four days longboardsk8man. Would that much beef ever be consumed in Oz over any 4 day period? I trust you can come up with an answer seeing as though you came up with that initial stat
number9 0
With the popularity of this Mega Mac and 40 minute lines at the Shinjuku Krispy Kreme, maybe the Japanese will lard themselves up to be like Americans and Aussies way quicker than I expected
Markie 0
Mos burger just opened last week in Hong Kong and there were some long lines for that. I doubt those long lines will last though.
big-will 7
It sounds yummy. I wonder what it will taste like. Right! I like Mos actually they are quite good.
rach 1
Imagine a Big Mac. Add a layer. There you go!
bushpig 0
yep, tried it and not much to rave about, other than being hard to get your mouth around. I'd take MOS any day over Maccas. They have actually had to limit sales of the megamac each day because of the high demand.
grungy-gonads 54
Spicy Mos cheese is good. I don't need to eat a Mega Mac to know exactly what it is like. That's because the ads tell me: Big Makku no ano oishisa sara ni POWER UPP!!!!! 4 BEEF PATTIES!!!! Tengoku no hamburger desu! NOW you know!
muikabochi 208
gg, that ad convinced me of the juicy burger goodness so I had one last night. And well it was too big to get in my mouth. That's about all for the comments.
big-will 7
Is that how the advertise it gg? Tengoku no hamburger. Right. The best hamburget I have ever had was in a place in Blackpool. It was awesome. Good thick meat, well done, salad, hot sauces. Just thinking about it makes me want to go back to Blackpool, and that's saying something.
daver 0
the best fast food chain burger in japan is the Freshness Burger Classic Double Cheese. no competition.

bushpig 0
Indo, Yeah, me too! In 3 seconds for a freebie! Daver, freshness is good, but I'd still take Mos.
frannyo 2
I've never had a freshness burger, is that a Japanese company? (Surely with a name like that )
BagOfCrisps 24
No trip to Japan is complete without a traditional Mega Mac and fries. We got drunk one night and succumbed to the lure of the Mac. Why is is I feel that however big they make one of those things I would still be hungry after scoffing it. grungy-gonads 54
I had a Mega Mac this evening. Gosh it was lovely. I feel very fresh now. The ad says this My MegaMac looked like this Can I sue?!!
