Yuki's Passion 1
still pretty darn chilly in Kyoto swam 2k last night and will do some weights and cross training tonight. Got a drinking party tomorrow and a few of the blokes are excited that I love sake so it sounds a bit yabai!
white-void 0
Not as bad this week. No excuse not to be jogging soon
TheOrange 0
Did you survive that party Creek Boy? Happily the hayfever is gone now and I can get back to some decent jogging. For a period of about 3 weeks there I was totally useless.

Yuki's Passion 1
It was a great party! I tried to take Bushpig there to celebrate his engagement but the line was outrageous. Had 5 days off and am looking forward to the gym tonight. Also going to run with the distance kids (Im the long distance coach) tomorrow so might not be able to move on Wednesday

Yuki's Passion 1
going to be in another world of pain after doing a speed workout today
dizzy 0
ran EKIDEN sunday w/ friends from work. EKIDEN is a relay race with 4 people 10km, 5km, 3km, 5km. other ekidens have different lengths. my leg was 3kms in about 16 min. now i have shin-splints, feels good.
Yuki's Passion 1
Generally shin-splints don’t come on after running only a few times. More likely its just muscle pain from unused muscles. I lived and raced with shin-splints on and off in college from doing high mileage and they don’t feel good; walking was painful let alone trying to run
indosnm 0
Yep, shin splints.. very far from feeling good! Often mistaken for a sore tibialis anterior.
bushpig 0
went for the first run in a while last night About 5 kms. Felt good in the evening, but it's gonna start warming up pretty soon...
TheOrange 0
Quote: 10km, 5km, 3km, 5km Whats the meaning behind that?
bushpig 0
the length of each leg of the ekiden
dale#1 1
Why those lengths though? Are they fixed or just what the organisers of this one decided on?
Yuki's Passion 1
Id guess that those are the standard long distance events that you have in T&F which is why they use those lenghts in the Ekiden...but not all Ekidens use those distances do they...?
Yuki's Passion 1
Well, todays workout was as follows (and I may not be around tomorrow): 20 min warmup stretch 8 X 200 then a 5-10 min break following set was hard: 200, 400, 100,100 X 4 (you only get a 10 sec rest) 400 X 2 15-20 min cool down I dont have speed but its fun runnin with my kids
